I have been reading the forum for days about this grandiose add-on, and one thought just hit me: Would I be the only pilot in my airline who
is doing the flying, or will there be a possibility to hire AI pilots to take over some (or the majority) of the routes? Whatever the answer is, I
have a hard time waiting for the release. :-))
Warning : text not corrected yet - this below work only in economic mode -
So, the oil market is fully done as well as the "airport price & taxes survey database"
If you want to optimize your income you may have a look at this database while
the oil not only change because of the market but may be also more expensive
or cheap on different airport... as the landing taxes.
So in FsP menu choose "Airport fuel & taxes price database"
Welcome screen with a bit of "role playing"
Type anything in any field, the response time is almost unoticeable: (search is case insensitive and work by keyword, "en" will return "England" as well as "Argentina")
The display change as you type your search:
Refine your search either by typing directly an ICAO code or a town or country name or only part of,
whatewer, when there is only one result you have a complete display like that:
I reworked also the oil graph wich is now finished, it's now global and the market live its life
in FsP for all the company in economical mode - (in FsP, the base time is the "flight" so
when you make a flight the market will change as if it was one day)
Notice as usual, the white background is a jpg that you can modify...
I have been "lurking" around this bulletin board for some time and I am excited about the potential this product has.
I do have a question though - It seems from the screenshots that I will be in total control over the number of passengers I have on each flight - for
that matter, cargo as well. That said, will there be an option for the program to automatically generate number of passengers/cargo for each flight -
based on any number of factors(customer sat, city I am serving, or just totally random).
Pilots and airline exec's rarely have control over the number of paying passengers on each flight(although they wish they could)....I am wondering if
this will be a part of the product or not?
What about an optional "no warp" mode for economic company ?
In this mode you must fly only from the airport your aircraft is located...
IE:
You buy the "PMDG 737-400" at KCCS airport, you can start a flight with this plane
only from KCCS airport, if you fly to KBOA you can then start only a flight from KBOA etc etc...
This is more realistic while you will not be able to "warp" your aircraft from one location
to another.... Could set some intteresting situation also.
Of course this will be an optional mode for economic company only...
Seem a neat idea to me... what y a think ?
Dan
PS: price database almost finished, somes more tuning and then I'll post screenshots)
I just made the function that will compute the oil price change during time,
as you see below it's fractal.
The graph show the JetA1 price change during 500 flights each graph is one company
notice how the yellow company had a lot of luck with rate usually well under common price (red line)
while the blue one sustained high price and had also a "crack" (I plan to send a litle splash screen
stating that there was a crack if this happen)
Notice you can start 500 company you'll have 500 time differents graph.
Comment ? I wonder if one want such a "random" element that would disturbe your game ?
(if you play the blue company for example it would be a bit harder)
(the graph show FsP data exported to Excell, I didn't made the FsP graph yet)
First off to Dan and the rest of the beta testers, FsPassengers looks to be the single best addon to come along for fs2004. Since learning
of the upcoming release of FsPassengers, I check this board religiously awaiting the news of release date(yes im registered for the
release news letter) I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve awaiting morning so I can open presents. Off on a serious note now, my question
is that I have fs2crew and would like to know how closely Fspassengers will duplicate some of the dialogues that goes on between capt.
and FO. For example will we have to confirm that gear is down and 3 green twice, once with fs2crew and also with fspassengers.
Thanks for all of your hard work and I have my credit card in hand when the word is go.
If I damage a part of the plane somehow, like having a bad landing, will the whole plane be more likely to have a failure or just that part?
So, for example, if I was to have a hard landing and damage the gear, would the gear alone be more likely to fail or will the whole plane
go from 100% damage to, like, 95% damage and then any part of the plane is more likely to fail? I know you can't fix individual parts so I
was just wondering how damage and failures are worked out.
