Hello: I am a long time user of FSPassengers. Just recently, after a Windows Update it seems, I am no longer able to launch FSX because of a box that says "Flight Simulator has detected a problem with a third party software program." It references fspassengers.dll
This is a copy of FSX that I have installed from the DVDs including the acceleration pack, which has worked for many years. I also have the Steam version installed, but I do not use it, nor do I think I am part of any BETA programs in Steam. How can I get FSX and FSPassengers to launch?
I know this problem was mentioned years ago already but I cant find it anymore: recently I get an increased number of this kind of "hang" where FSP gets stuck and jumps back to normal on menu interaction. Apart from the "after takeoff" scenario this also happens to me during cruise, which is very frustrating because I sometimes keep long range flights running when going to work etc.
I dont use the map jump, which i suppose its meant to prevent, at all. So is there a way of deactivating that check as some kind of "workaround"?
I just bought FSP and get a Critical error #001 and it says "Unable to Recognise FSX version Aborting FSPassengers.
I have windows 10 and fsx steam edition.
I been reading a few posts on here and tried a few things and haven't worked for me. i downloaded and installed the 3 simconnect files and nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Could anyone enlighten me as to the workings of this add on? I've been flying here there and everywhere just basically going where I please. But lately I've been reading there is more profit to be made flying from a regular airport or route? Is this the case?
Rather than selecting destination, the passengers decide where they want to go or select from a few options in respect of the capabilities of the plane?

Remark: before proceeding be sure that you have made a backup of all your addons, and explicitly all your FsPassengers folder (see how to find it here).
Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition has files and folders located in numerous locations on your computer system. Please note: You will need to ensure you have the option to show hidden folders enabled. To perform a clean install you need to remove the following content and folders. Please remember to change [drive] to whatever hard drive you have installed the games to (this is usually the C drive)- furthermore, replace <user name> to your Windows user name.
• In your Steam client, right click on the game and select 'Uninstall'. A pop-up message should appear confirming that you want to proceed. Select Delete.
• Once done go to [drive]:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX. Once here delete all of the content inside this folder and then the folder itself.
• Delete the “Microsoft Flight Simulator X Files” folder in “My Documents”, which can be found at [drive]:\Users\<user name>\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files. Again delete all of the content inside this folder followed by the folder itself.
Once you have deleted all of the above you can perform a clean install of Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition by selecting 'install' from the Steam client whilst the game is selected. This will also delete any third- party addons you have installed.
