Just in case you happen to suffer from CTDs (Crash to Desktop), this is the prog which helped me.
Basically what it does is shutdown those tasks which are not absolutely required to run FS2004.
You can get it here ==> http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Cat...DLID=57040
And here's how to use it:
Upon loading the prog, you'll be presented with the following window:

Before you do anything, select Tools\Program Options from the tool bar and check that the Tool Tips are enabled:
![[Image: fsas2.jpg]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v697/DBE/fsas2.jpg)
Then, from the main menu, select Services. You will be presented with a list of the tasks currently configured on your machine:
![[Image: fsas3.jpg]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v697/DBE/fsas3.jpg)
![[Image: fsas4.jpg]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v697/DBE/fsas4.jpg)
If you click on each one of them, FSAutostart will display a recommendation in a second window, i.e. can you REALLY stop the task or not..
For those tasks that can be stopped, simply click on the words No Action. You will then be presented with the following options:
![[Image: fsas5.jpg]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v697/DBE/fsas5.jpg)
Select Stop for all the tasks you do not need and save your configuration. By clicking on Start on the main menu, the tasks will be shut
down.
That's all there is to it!
