Actually, the best way to run vista is in the admin account:

Click start--> settings --> control panel
Click classic view
Double click on Administrative tools then Computer Management
In computer Management, click on the Local Users and Groups on the left and then Select Users from the drop down menu

On the right, you will get the list of users. Select the administrator, right click and left click on properties.
Remove the Checkmark in the Account is disabled box.

From now on, the administrator's account is opened on your Vista computer and you can log into it from the main login page.

Now, all you need to do is copy all your documents/favorites and stuff found in your normal user login to the administrator's and you're set
to go.

No more administrator confirmation

It depends what kind of admin you are. If you are logged into the adminstrator's account (see my post above) than no. However, if you are
logged into an account with administrative rights (as opposed to restricted and guest accounts) then yes.

What a load of crap saying XP is more stable than Vista.

I imagine most of you are running systems not built to run Vista.


I have had vista for 12 months now It has never crashed once

My old XP machine crashed and hung all the time. I can run every game known to man all the way back to BAO's Tower on Vista, could
never get it to work on XP.

I laugh at those who poke fun at Vista, and crap about how computer makers won't ship with Vista... all those with complaints have
almost always been either:

A.) People who put Vista on an older machine not designed to run Vista (Not enough RAM)

or

B.) People who built a "New" machine lacking the proper system specs for Vista.

My system is far from the "Best" although it is good, and Vista is Flawless on my machine, and FSX works without a hitch it
never crashes freezes or hangs, and I'm getting upwards of 45-50 FPS, and I do not have a very high end system by todays standards.

I second that statement fully. Although XP was 100% stable for me in the years I had it, so has Vista. I have not experienced any of the horror
stories told to be by many people who had bought Vista. I have had no performance hits anywhere, and it has never crashed. The only times my
computer has ever crashed are because of hardware problems that didn't have anything to do with Vista. DX10 preview mode in FSX has done wonders for me. It has brought about a 10% performance boost (in addition to the 20% boost already granted in FSX SP1) and more impressive visuals. I installed
Vista SP1 as soon as it appeared on Windows Update. I haven't noticed anything different since I installed it simply because I was not having any of
the problems that SP1 addressed in the first place.

For me:

Vista has not had any of the stability issues that others have claimed to be.

Vista has not had any of the unstable/buggy drivers that I have heard stories about (video, sound, etc)

Vista has had no negative performance impact on my system, even though I had had assurances that it would.

Personnaly, I bought a new PC back in the fall so I got VISTA, its running great and all I care about is that FSX PAX will run with vista and
FSX and that ill be able to use it since it looks like a great addon....

Little question though, how do u know how much FPS u have...I set it in the optionn menu of FSX but it doesnt tell me how much its
running at during play.... I set it at 20 FPS in the FSX option menu, I guess thats a good setting....Im using an Intel Core 2 quad CPU
Q6600 2,4 GHZ and 3 GB RAM with an Nvidia 8800 GTX graphic card.....I put all the options in FSX at about 75% of max specs....Its
running good with the basic planes but I have to lower them a bit with addons planes or it crashes sometimes in busy airports like
heathrow...Is that normal...

About crashes at or near heathrow, was it an 'out f memory' issue? I had them too but dealed with it by adding some switches in the boot.ini If you
do a search for it on internet I believe there is also a patch for it from MS

Thanx for the tip dutch64....im sorry though, im not really a PC expert so I didnt understand what u meant to fix my ---ure PC has run out of
memory and needs to close----crash mess....I looke on the microsoft FSX support site and tried a few things but didnt catch what u meant
by boot.ini...thanx for reply in advance....

FSPX isnt for one special aircraft, its for all aircraft in FS i think. So i think it will!
