The very next thing I did after that experience was adding the ugly but at least working Engine start switches of the default pannels.

Which is why I remapped all my FS controls. I have all for start switches mapped to key presses and the fuel fuel switches are beneath
each corrosponding lever on my CH Throttle. All vital functions I have mapped to key presses - I think.
