Has anyone been to area 51 - andy14 - 15-10-2006 Hi, has any one been to area51 in FSX If so may you post a screen shot Thanks I read about it in the FSX guide book. Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - Airliner - 15-10-2006 No Andy, Frank B. Parker isn't in the scenery with the sphere! ![]() (Let's see if anyone even knows what I'm talking about. ![]() Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - SWVA5630 - 15-10-2006 Yes, I flew the mission and almost got taken out by a UFO en-route. LOL! Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - jboweruk - 16-10-2006 Now that's just silly, UFO sightings happen all over the world but are somewhat rarer than an undercooked steak. Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - Airliner - 16-10-2006 Agreed - besides, any UFO seen in the Nevada desert eventually shows up years later at a USAF air show. Example: F117, B2, etc. ![]() (The reference to Mr. Parker was from the TV series "Seven Days," in which he would jump into a sphere which could travel backwards in time to fix things. Show didn't last long - maybe 3-4 seasons.) Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - SWVA5630 - 18-10-2006 Yeah, that show was awesome though. I used to watch it all the time. Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - Airliner - 20-10-2006 It WAS on Spike at 0900 weekdays until about a month ago. ![]() I actually got my wife hooked on it! She laughed at how Olga kept calling him, "Mr. Parker" when it was so obvious she had it bad for him! ![]() Andy, I'll take the white/red 737 up there in a bit and post a screenie for ya! Why the white paint with red stripe? Kinda looks like a Janet flight, no? ![]() Post Edited ( 10-20-06 15:08 ) Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - vegasflyboy2004 - 20-10-2006 Yes, they still use Janet 732's to take people 'uprange' on the Nellis Range Complex. Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - Airliner - 25-10-2006 Quote:Yes, I flew the mission and almost got taken out by a UFO en-route. LOL! Just did that mission - I completely missed it the first time. The second time, it was obvious (follow the "fast-mover" on final). Kinda looked like a modified stealth fighter, to a degree. Or a cross between that and the X2 shuttle (that what it was called?) Sorry - no screenshot of Area 51/Groom Lake/ Dreamland. First, I was on final and my airspeed was dropping fast. Then, I realized it was rather quiet. DOH! MY ENGINES WERE SHUT DOWN!! Don't know how or when but, I went into a panic as I was only a few thousand feet up (maybe 3-4), full flaps and sinking below 120 kias! Grabbed the start switches, threw the fuel switches - NOTHING! The stupid VC controls don't always work! Switched to Panel 4 (throttle) and did a restart - still sinking; STILL sinking! Whew! Pulled it out at around 500 feet, leveled out and touched down about halfway down the runway. I came to a full stop just at the last turnoff. Then, I did a stupid thing - hit control + c! That's the exit immediately combo! AGH!!!! ![]() Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - HB-100 - 26-10-2006 LOL, Airliner. Remembers me on one of my FSP flights with FS2004 where one engine got a bird strike. Not a problem ..useually. Just that my pannel was an import from FS2002 or FS2000 and some switches and display refresh simple do not work. Because I couldn't select only one engine to shut down I shut down both with the key. Enough altitude I had. The automatic start then however then didnt work. (always tried the damaged first and filed, but then did not continue with the good one), and for the manual start of a single engine I had no working switches. Also found no possibility in the key setup. ![]() I sunk. The very next thing I did after that experience was adding the ugly but at least working Engine start switches of the default pannels. ![]() Post Edited ( 10-26-06 13:53 ) Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - Airliner - 26-10-2006 Quote:The very next thing I did after that experience was adding the ugly but at least working Engine start switches of the default pannels. ![]() Which is why I remapped all my FS controls. I have all for start switches mapped to key presses and the fuel fuel switches are beneath each corrosponding lever on my CH Throttle. All vital functions I have mapped to key presses - I think. ![]() Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - igR - 26-10-2006 http://vid.rcft.net/FSX/UFO_FSX.wmv http://vid.rcft.net/FSX/UFO_FSX2.wmv Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - Scotty_1991 - 27-10-2006 Ahhhhhh Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - supersonic9910 - 03-11-2006 Here are some pics after landing ![]() ![]() hehe it looks like a cockroach lol Re: Has anyone been to area 51 - Airliner - 03-11-2006 Actually, from that angle it kind of looks like a Ferengi Marauder class vessel. ![]() |
