I've installed FSAutostart and it's quite good at trimming down the processess of the system to get more out of the computer. I still did
have the problem though of crashing to a black screen as soon as I confirm that the tower has handed me off to ground shortly after
landing.
I just cannot find anything that helps this crashing problem and sadly has curbed back my flying enthusiasm. My system is kept updated
and top notch! Being a graphic designer I naturally am apt to keep these things working good (also playing the role of I.T. guy at my office/
new motherboards, HDD's, etc). I have had no crashes of any sort with my computer or with FS9 before FSP.
I also run FSManager since I wanted it to enable the FS9 engine to allow crashes where wings rip off and fire blazes. But I had the FSP
radio handoff problem before I even installed FSManager.
Last night just just on a hunch about the radio. I started with FSAutostart to trim dowm the system. Fire up FS9. Then start up FSP. I flew a
short trip but this time I set my COM2 radio to some no nothing frequency for both the active and awaiting frequency. In another word, no
chatter (although I do love the sound of it). My hunch was that the radio chatter on COM 2 was somehow interferring with the radio handoff
after landing. And well.... no crash!!!!!!!! I still need to test this more but could some of you try this yourself to see if it helps your situation?
Could there be a bug with the engine that automatically runs the COM2 chatter? I'm not a programmer, just I person that tends to be good
at diagnosing things.
Thanx,
