No, a controller would only reject an emergency in case of a very busy situation and after checking it on private with the emergency pilot to
make sure that it exist and that it is not an excuse to be the first for the approach.

Really? Huh, news to me. So you're telling me that I can chose not to be an ATC and just take pilot exams to be promoted on a
pilot level?

VATSIM does not require any exam to pilots. This is up to the managers or conditions for each Virtual Airline.

Just to bring some light to confusions.

Sorry should of been a bit clearer. Emergencies are required for ATC practical exams.

I meant there are documents available to pilots and ATC in regards to dealing with emergencies. As Lluís says, there are no examinations for pilots.

Lol, remembers me: one time flying on IVAO a controller asked me to make an emergency like my right engine shut down :lol The controller fixed it up

Ah okay, as I thought. IVAO has it on both ends. You can be promoted on both pilot and ATC end of things.

I wouldnt IVAO if it wasnt all europe oriented.

It's unfortunate that perception exists as IVAO has a very good US and CA division. The thing you have to remember is that it is a
worldwide organization that is held under one roof rather than seperate entities. For example, the tests that I have taken in the US
Division are the same tests that a controller in Germany, Japan, or anywhere else would take as well.

All in all, there are questions that are not pertainent to the USA and there are some that, for our friends in Germany or Japan, are not
pertainent to them. In the long run, you end up being more knowledgable about procedures everywhere and how to operate with them.
This is especially important because there is nothing restricting me from working in Germany or Japan or anywhere else for that matter
provided I have the necessary ratings.

I've read most posts on here and I'm surprised at what I've read. I've been a member of VATSIM for over a year now with nearly 200 hours flying
logged. Never once have I seen someone turned away with an emergency just because its busy. Nobody abuses it and its not very often you come accross
one. I remember flying from the Isle of Man to Dublin once and found myself with an engine 1 failure and so I decalred a mayday and the controller had
no problem with the emergency and was obviously trained very well to cope with it. I was given full priority and given a straight in approach on one
of the runways not in use and all controllers at Dublin were given notice of an emergency aircraft but unfortunetly the realism was reduced when the
tower IMO stupidly cleared an aircraft for takeoff from runway 10 which intercepted runway 16 but he was then told to abort takeoff. It was all fine
with no problems whatsoever. I'm sure its quite similar in IVAO too. I don't believe the posts above who say its not allowed to declare an emergency
without permission. It is possible that an aircraft can have a communications failure when his radio may not work and text is not an option and that
CAN happen but luckily its rare. But yes the hijacking squawk of 7500 is against the rules and you will be booted straight away if this is put into
your transponder.
Anyway as for the FsPassengers addon, I've had no problems with it and I find this product to be very realistic and really does give yeah the feeling
that your carrying passengers. And you HAVE to meet scheduales in order to annoy passengers and do things like avoid stormy weather so as not to
discomfort them. I hope to introduce this addon into Aer Lingus Virtual when we are up and running by September.
I hope to never have to do an emergency again any time soon but when I do I'm sure FsPassengers will provide a lot of realism during that along with
the ATC given. So thanks very much for an excellent product and an enjoyable one to use at that!

Well I one day I was departing from KATL using VATSIM and my right engine broke down, so I reported to the atc and he drive me back to ATL and I
landed safely. So it is allow to have emergencies with VATSIM of course is...

Well, I've just called up servinfo to compare. Currently as at 10:38 BST:

VATSIM: 357 pilots + controllers
IVAO: 1

..that's all I need to know.

A VATSIM controller cannot decline an emergency unless you squak 7600 or 7500, that will have you banned.

Just to clarify. The following is directly from the VATSIM Code of Conduct, Section B Pilot's Conduct:

8. Pilots are permitted to declare in-flight emergencies. If, for any reason, air
traffic control requests the pilot to terminate the emergency, then the pilot
must do so IMMEDIATELY or log off of VATSIM. Pilots are not
permitted to simulate, in any manner, an unlawful act while logged onto
the VATSIM.net network including, but not limited to, declaring a hijack
by statement utilizing either voice or text or by entering a transponder
code of 7500.

Emergencies are not addressed in Section C Controller's Conduct except in references to the Guard frequency use. As section C is
silent as to any requirements for handling emergencies there can be no inference that a controller is required to handle an emergency.

That said I think most controllers enjoy the opportunity to handle an emergency now and then. When I trained as a controller my
instructors/mentors made sure I learned how to handle them. While I have not seen abuse during my time as controller I think it was
wise to add this section to allow controllers some discretion when needed.

While I have a bias toward VATSIM I have heard from a number of people who think very highly of IVAO. I encourage any new user to
online flight simulation to give them both a try and see which envirionment they prefer. We are all very fortunate to have the benefit of
some great free networks and some really awesome software to use in simulating both flying and controlling. I only wished I had these
things when I started my flight trainging back in 1977.
