How about more weather related operations, Like the need for at-the-gate de-icing, which you would have to pay for, and plan time for, it could happen
concurrently with passenger boarding. If you request de-icing when you don't need it, you still pay for it, plus a small fine. If you don't prompt it,
and you face icing conditions, control surface failures could result. a stuck flap, lost trim responce, or non-responsive rudder come to mind. And on
that note.... How about Pitot failure/freeze up if you don't have heat on below, say 7-10* c. Turning heat on would fix problem after 3-5mins, but you
would face a penalty. Just a thought from a rookie. Love the program though- Brilliant!

I'd be for this as long as it's realistic. I have no idea who pays or of there are fines, etc. I like it as a time concern versus a possible boost to
the risk of emergencies.

Don't forget pitot heat is already modelled in FS, and that means no IAS until you warm the tubes up.

Re: next Update Suggestions... - bphendri - 28-07-2006

What I would like to see when you are at the gate, is that you have to tell the gate agents when to board the PAX, not just have it depend on if the doors are open or not. Since I will often load up my
PAX about an hour beforehand so I can get all the weight calculations for the FMC, etc. I have to keep the doors, closed to the plane, to keep the pax out. In the real world the pilots will be in the
plane preflighting WITH the aircraft doors open, but the pax aren't allowed to board until the flight attendants say so.

How about a button to select everything - pax and cargo - without having to move all those sliders?

Another: since I only fly Concorde, how about increasing the max rate of descent (or providing an option to do so) before the PAX start
getting worried? 4,500fpm at 23 miles per minute isn't exactly steepWink

This would be dangerous. Just today if I would have loaded full pax and cargo on my plane I would have ended up at 158% MTOW.

Re: next Update Suggestions... - Cactus757 - 29-07-2006

I agree with changing the max decent rate, sometime a rapid decent is necessary but you cant do it or the passengers get scared. In the
real world passengers dont feel that. My dad is a captain on the a320 for America West/US Airways and he tells me stories of atc telling
him to decend at a rates of 5500 to 6000 fpm sometimes. Passengers just dont feel that sort of thing.

Re: next Update Suggestions... - Airliner - 29-07-2006

If I recall, doesn't KLGA require a steep descent? A show on the History Channel said that was one of the stipulations for the
development of the B727 - Eastern needed and aircraft capabale of steep, quick descents into LaGuardia but United also wanted
enough power to takeoff out of KDEN.

OK mate, but since we have that flashing MTOW bar-thing wouldn't we notice if selecting everything was dangerous?

Most of them sound like great suggestions.

Make it possible to fly Concorde with FSpax. Every time after a few minutes I can't use the flaps anymore (at 0) and even after a very easy
and nice flight I am fined again. One Concorde (PSS) has flaps and the freeware version doesn't have flaps at all.
Nevertheless. "Captain, you damaged the flaps" or something like that...

disable the flap penelty in the more options file????

Re: next Update Suggestions... - PaulAH - 29-07-2006

Ruud,

FSPax is perfectly good for Concorde. As Drew said, just disable the flap penalties in more_option(s).cfg. The limit on descent rate
detracts from the realism a bit, but otherwise it works great.
