Speed Question - Air France - 18-12-2005 Today i just did a flight from LFPG to KMIA with the posky Air France A340-300 and when i was flying at 34,000FT my speed would change from time to time. I would go at like 470KT and then slow down to 375KT and then up to like 425KT ect.... I have it on Autothrottle at mach .81 Please tell me if this is normal. Thank You, Clement Post Edited ( 12-18-05 02:34 ) Re: Speed Question - Medic_Pilot - 18-12-2005 Hi Clement, First, can you be a little more specific? Are you talking about ground speed, indicated airspeed, or true airspeed? Thanks, Greg Re: Speed Question - Air France - 18-12-2005 sorry lol but its the speed on the GPS Re: Speed Question - runibl - 18-12-2005 I would say it's the changing wind that is affecting your speed. Re: Speed Question - samiranks - 18-12-2005 are you using real weather, activesky, or self configured weather? are you using fsuipc? like runibl said could just be wind. Re: Speed Question - Air France - 18-12-2005 You think so??? well thanks Re: Speed Question - Air France - 18-12-2005 I am using Active Sky Re: Speed Question - Dutch64 - 18-12-2005 Are you using wind smoothing in ASV? If not, please enable it in the options. Also, if you have a registered copy of FSUIPC (I think it is only possible with the registered copy) then set the smoothing option to 1, it prevents most (but not all) overspeeding due to windshifts Re: Speed Question - SWAFO - 18-12-2005 Our GS in reality moves around quite a bit (while maintaining the same IAS or mach). Changing winds do a number on aircraft speed! |
