Wrong destination revisited

Good morning or Afternoon all,

I have been searching the forums for an answer but with many of the replies and comments going off in multiple tangents, many
detracting from the issue raised it makes it nearly impossible to find the solution so I apologise if this has been covered elsewhere.

I have a number of add on scenery airports installed for here in South Australia. Admittedly they are small outback airports/Airfields, many
of which are not included in commercial or many add on scenery packages however they do exist and much searching has been done to
find scenery for them.

For example, we have some outback airfields along our Nullabor Plain which stretches from South Australia to Western Australia, a major
connecting highway between the states.

The issue arises for example from a regional town Ceduna (YCDU) on South Australia's west coast which is included in most available
scenery to one of the hard to find scenery airfields Penong (YPNG). Also from there to Nundroo (YNDR) and Yalata Mission (YTTA).

From what I can find in these forums is that I need to access the "IcaoDbFspX.cfg" and add the airport name there which I have done and
of course saved.

These airports are now selectable in FSP as destinations, show up on PlanG and are visible in the FSX scenery yet the passenger/s are
unhappy that they did not reach their destination.

What am I missing please?

Paul, this has been a sore spot for many users throughout the years (including myself), and much of the time there isn't a
definitive solution to it due to how FS9 and FSX were set up to begin with. Often times it's the matter of a person parking
near or on a helipad, using a modified AFCAD that has fouled up the parking spots, an addon scenery or another airfield close
by the intended destination. The best thing to do is open the GPS panel to see exactly where you are in relation to what's
depicted on the GPS map before setting the parking brake. I don't know if there is anything Dan can do about this, but it
wouldn't hurt if he commented on this as well.

It seems the issue may be a little deeper if I relate to your post. You mention the GPS panel and setting the parking brake as close to where it
indicates the airfield is. Secondly you refer to AFCAD. Unfortunately I am not knowledgeable in the AFCAD. I have heard of it but have no idea
what it is in regard to using it, if you know what I mean and am not technically minded.

Maybe the issue for me is that it does not show up on the GPS. Is that an AFCAD thing perhaps?

It would probably best to use only payware scenery, I know several freeware scenery that screws everything up

Paul, unfortunately FSX, FS9 and P3D do not have every airport in the world populated within each sim. That's one of the
limitations of each one. It would be nice to have every one of them available though. There are freeware and payware
developers who have made full sceneries and/or AFCAD files for many forgotten airports around the world. A good explanation

Eventually you will be able to make your own AFCADs after doing some research on how it's done. I have a payware program that
allows me to edit any AFCAD existing in the sim to add runways, ILS approaches, edit frequencies, add parking spots,etc. AFX
is the program from Flight1. Of course you can get a freeware one that's mentioned in the above link.
