Hello guys!
A first posting about this amazing program, and one that is prone to being flamed... I just got up, after having slept for 3 hours in the last days.
So please do not kill me, if this already was mentioned...
I found several treads complaining about FSPassengers inability to "know" which aircraft need how many flaps for takeoff and landing, and which
aircraft do not. The solution was to edit the "more_option.cfg", which is IMHO a bit Freeware-style and cumbersome. Dan pointed out, that he is unable
to program all the myriads of different settings into FSP (and right he is!!).
How about this solution: Why not put 2 new variables into the payload model? There already is one for pressurization, so why not add 2 for "Flaps on
takeoff" and "Flaps on landing"?
Advantages:
* FSP would know exactely how much flaps the aircraft needs to take off or land.
* FSP would not penalize you, even though you did nothing wrong.
* One would not need to do the cumbersome editing of "more_option.cfg".
* Dan would not need to find out settings for millions of addon aircraft
* The people (who already customize this great addon like mad) would simply enter these informations, while creating payload models.
* Dan would be saved the work and can concentrate on more important things.
Disadvantages:
* Can't think of any right now...
What do you think about this? Already been mentionen and ooooooold, or ist it a good idea?
