For some reason I got a penalty for using reverse thrust under 60kts...however on the last update I thought it lowered the allowed speed to 40kts. So
why did a get the penalty?

You can disable the penalty altogether in the more_option.cfg file. Some aircraft have problems with the reverse thrust penalties and
FSP.

anyway no mistery, the value "reverse thrust" of Fs2004 was set to 1
and the value "speed" of fs2004 was above 40 kts... but you can disable it in more_option, next update will have a more pleasant feature about this penalty: no points taken only a warning text but from time to time the engine may ingest FOE and fail. Dan

Like the feature Dan
![]() Just remember to keep the percentage of FOD ingestion VERY LOW (in reality, it's well below 1%). Perhaps you could even add a variable for adjusting the percentage of this happening (or will it be included as a failure along with bird strikes, etc?). Remember though that some people will certainly not want the chance of this happening, so I vote to keep the more_option.cfg option about reverse thrust now. That way those that don't want it can disable the penalty.

I thought I might add something here. There's a plane actually use the reverse thrust for pushback if there's no ground equipment.
Antonov AN72 is said to done that lots of times. ![]()

Yes, this has been mentioned in the past. Quite a few turbojet aircraft use their reversers for pushback.
