TA/TL

Just an idea here for a future upgrade.

I know that you can select the TA/TL depending upon the country, but let's take a flight from the USA to Europe.

In the USA, it's always FL180/18000. In Europe, it varies by field. So what if they were handled independently allowing you to choose a
TA and TL that are both different?

Would make sense for those of us who fly online anyway.

Basically, you're saying you'd like to set an independent TA for departure and arrival airports, right? I can see where this would come in
handy (for intl. flights). Perhaps, even a change during the flight would be in order.

I have to be perfectly honest I can't understand why we are different in the first place, I think the FAA/CAA and other governing bodies
should get together and set it at 18K once and for all, anywhere in the world. Would save a lot of confusion.

I agree... even though I don't fly out of the US, I have flown in other countries (with the military), and constant
transition level adjustment is a pain in the ass! Can't I just fly the damn thing! I mean 29.92 above FL180 isn't bad,
however when you get into other countries that seem to have the TL changing every hour of the day, it's somewhat
of a hastle!

Agreed as well. But something tells me this will never change.

Thanks for that and I remember it, but I wasn't sure if it got burried or not as it was never addressed.
