W key causes sim to freeze!

Hi simmers, in using the program, i decided to have a look at the runway on approach by using the W key. The moment i did this the whole screen went
black but still had sound. The PC had frozen on me right after a good 30 min flight in a storm!!!

Is this a bug or are we not supposed to use the W key whilst using FSP?

I have used the W key plenty of times and have had no problems at all. Probably was caused by something else, and FS2004 have a
tendency to crash every now and then, even tho I have 9.1. Sometimes it helps to press Alt-Enter to switch between window mode and full
screen mode.
