Well, I figured that we, the Betas, could give you in one single thread our tips/tricks and what to watch for.... without
spoiling the game for you of course!

PLEASE, ONLY TIPS AND TRICKS, NO DISCUSSION... That way you will get a concise FAQ
Also, please make sure that what you will mention is not already in the thread.

#1 Taxi Speed
Make sure you turn the GPS on when taxiing... that way you can see if you're close to the 35Kts limit

#2 Arrival Time
If using Ultimate Traffic, make sure that you take your traffic into account when filing your arrival time. If you are
flying from a busy airport, you
can easily add 20-30 minutes.

You can also add 10-15 min for the approach if you are using the Fs2004 ATC.

#3 Problem Penalties
If you hate a penalty, don't forget to check the "more_option.cfg" file found in the ...fspassengers\config folder. It
can be edited with the notepad.

#4 You bought a plane but FsPassengers won't let you fly with it
If after you've purchased a plane, FsP doesn't let you use it. Try to reset the plane by loading another aircraft and
then reloading your plane.

#5 If you are a Bush Pilot
While dropping off passengers from a float plane, driving up on the bank can create bad bumps which not only
freighten passengers &
downing their satisfaction, but you can damage the tail of your plane that will cost you money.

You can successfully drop passengers off from a float plane next to shore instead. (Actually anywhere at all.)

Don't refuel your plane before you select End Flight or your fuel won't be calculated for the trip.

Watch your guages like a pilot does, sometimes there are failures that can crop up like a leaking fuel tank, engine
over heat, etc.

#6 If you are on a jet plane

Preset the maximum speed at 235 knt on the ground but don't active the autothrottle yet. Once airborne, active the
autothrottle.

This way, you won't exceed the maximum speed of 250 knt below 10 000 feet.

If you get the clearance to exceed this speed (CTRL-SHIFT-3), take manual control of throttle or change speed of
the autothrottle!

Don't forget it's the same thing on descent!

In all case

Don't even think about excess maximum speed of the plane: it's dangerous and you'll get big penalty for that!!!

#7 Don't roll an airliner

#8 Lights Penalty

Check your aircraft lights before setting the "full light" penalty. If the strobes and the beacon are on the same
button (like the C172, C182 and a
few others), you will always be penalized in FsPassengers. The solution is to only set the Simple Light Penalty
options.

#9 Fs2004 Emergencies

Make sure that you disable the Fs2004 failure feature. FsPassengers will not detect an emergency caused by
Fs2004 or another add-on. If something
fails outside of FsPassengers and you declare an emergency, you'll be penalized even if it's a real emergecny...

Consequently, if you want more emergencies in FsPassengers, don't hesitate to increase the value in the difficulty
setup.

#10 I crashed but FsP didn't recognize it:


Your Fs2004 is not set-up to detect crashes: go to the realism panel of Fs2004 and enable that option.

#11 I always get penalty for exceeding max speed of aircraft

This is a bug with external weather program that do rough wind change
this can be cleared by setting "smooth wind change" at some location

from a beta tester that had this problem during a long time:
"Well, a fresh reinstall of ActiveSky4.5(updated version) and a clearing and reset of the FSUIPC settings has now
corrected the problem (
knock on wood). Flew Last night and it was rock solid. "

Another way if you can't make weather smooth wind change at all is to disable
this penalty.

go into FsPassengers/config and edit the file More_option.cfg with notepad
chnage the line as below:

DisableOverspeedLimit =1; // disable overspeed penalty

#12 Hey! Is there really a war at Buchanan field airport???

No! A 100% war zone was set at Buchanan field airport to allow demo users to try this unique and cool feature
without having to fly in Irak
from San Francisco...

So you want to disable this feature?
It's easily editable (even in the demo).

1. Open "dangerous database" dialog in FsP menu and click on "edit cfg" button
2. Delete the first line called
KCCR demo war area;fail=0;war=100;lon=-122.05967;lat=37.984931;range=10;
3. Save and exit.

That's it!

#13 I have some problem with the handling of PMDG aircraft with FSP

It seem PMDG aircraft behave a bit differently than other aircraft in regards
of Center of gravity...

so when you load your aircraft with FsPassengers take car to put the CG arrow
in front instead of right in the midle... should look like this on the payload display:

#14 How can I calculate the time taken for a flight?

To know how long the flight will be, use the "flight planner" in the first FS2004 menu.

Then set your departure airport and the destination airport.

Press the "Find" button to find your route.

Press the "navlog" button.

There you'll find how long FS estimate your flight.

Now don't type in this number; it's not really that accurate. This number is calculating max cruise speed non-stop
from A to B. It isn't
taking into account pax loading time, taxiing, climinging speed, then cruise speed once your 30 minutes into the
flight, and then the same
thing again descending to your destination.

To get better precision, take the ETE number, add 5 minutes if your going to do a 5 minute pax loading delay (or
whatever), add another 5-
10 (this could be even longer if using Ultimate Traffic at a busy airport) for taxiing at the two airports, and tack on
another 10-20minutes to
account for MSFS' ATC routing you to the ILS for landing (you'll be flying that at 250kts, not mach .85). Now the ETE
is more like 3h02m
from gate to gate.

Example: You're in a small airport heading for a busy one. FS told you it will be a 2h50 trip.
First add 5 minutes for taxiing.

You're coming from the east but you know ATC will give you landing clearance from the west, So you wil have to
make a "U-turn". Add 20
minutes.

Since you're landing at a busy airport, you should taxi for long. So add 10 minutes.

Your trip will be 3h25 at least.

#15 How to access the FsPassengers menu

Once you have started your Fs2004 flight (ie: you are in the cockpit of the aircraft you want to fly), simply press the
ALT key on your keyboard. This
will bring up the FS2004 memu at the top of your screen. Then, click on FsPassengers to access the
FsPassengers menu. That's where all the
FsPassengers memu commands are, including the registration window.

#16 How can i check what time is it int the simulator when FSP in activated?

Look at the mini display . It indicate the GMT time i f you have set an arrival time and using the GMT option.
