[Beta] VoicePackCreator for FsPassengers 04 and X

VoicePackCreator

VoicePackCreator is a utility that allow you to record new FsPassengers voice pack with a few click.
No more deal with wav filename or filters, just hit record and speak in the mic.
It will be bundled with FsPassengersX and the future FsPassengers 2004 patch.

As it's the very first beta I release it as it is and I'll see if the feedback are enough usefull if not I'll probably close the beta.
JUST ONE ADVICE: If you have a bug give as much informations as you can and please COME BACK
to read my question and give more feedback. A bug report without following is totally useless.

Please download the archive and unzip it in your FsPassengers directory and launch "FsPassengers/utility/VoicePackCreator.exe"

Just downloaded it now and will gladly report any bugs that needs fixing!

Just to let people know, you will get an error if you just copy the folders across to the FSP folder. Make sure you EXTRACT thme either using WinRar, or by right clicking and cliking extract, and direct the extractor to the FSP folder.

Hey Dan, 1st of all amazing! the pack so far is perfect! easy to install and easy to edit the existing packs. 1 thing i particularly love is that
you can change the ambient music! definitely a plus! been using for 2 hrs now and still no bugs, she seems pretty solid. will keep you

I've downloaded the beta version with WINDOWS VISTA, and I can't (or I don't know) create new voicepack. The error is ever "directory already exist",
but I can't open any directory.

any idea?

Yes, bad installation, take care to unzip archive into FsPassengers's directory and with option "use folder name"
in winzip.

Doing this most files will go into a "FsPassengers/bin" directory and the voicepackCreator.exe will go into "FsPassengers/utilities"

Initial testing this is very nice! I see there are lines that I never came accross while flying and install was super easy, with build in
Windows XP zip file handling works flawlessly for installing it. Very easy to use recording and filter system, only catch is knowing to set the
filter selections before hitting record (didn't follow the numbers and did it in the wrong order the first time). Magnificent work! Will post if
any errors are found.

Hey Dan, just to let you no that I've been flying all day with 50% of the voices recorded and there hasn't been 1 problem. the only thing i
can say is your one hell of a programmer! amazing stuff mate. I'll keep trying to find problems but as it stands its solid.

Keep trying to crash it, it was lightspeed coding so there must be some bugs here and there.

Usually the filter are properly set by default for each type of sound. So you don't even need to bother before hitting record.
Only caution is with music, a good music sound must be 10-20 second looped and VoicePackCreator don't allow to set
a precise loop.

I have yet to try changing the music. I don't have any 'normal' music to use for looping ;[

Though the recording of a british copilot's coming along well xD

It's slightly confusing though, because it seems to want to cut my voice off during long speeches/phrases (even with the auto blanking
remover). I have to compensate by waiting like 2 seconds after i've finished to end the recording.

Error: Using Vista Ultimate with UAC turned on and after having switched users the app locks up.

Simulation: Switch users with the Voice application turned on and it will not react anymore when switched back to the
original user, it cannot be turned off and needs a hardkill. After that it will not restart until after a reboot

Visual Error: On attempt of restarting the application it will only come up with a black box in the middle of the screen

Suggestion: I do not think that this is an issue with your application Dan, I think it might be a Vista problem. I will do
some more messing with it

Thanks for information,

-Closing "VPC" before switching do solve this problem ?
-Appart that does VPC work without flaw with UAC on ? (no problems creatings files, recording , any popup ? etc etc?)

Might be a multithread and event problem, events are not restored properly and the app lock
on the 2nd thread (used to do capture, this is a comon way to do it, I wonder if the directX sample
about capture will not lock also???)

I'm on Vista and I use UAC - it works fine for me. Then again I'm an admin. I've never been asked to allow anything to do with FS or FSP.. I
also don't run anything as admin, it just works out of the box :S
