my first 'official' flight with FSPassanger (and 2005traffic)

I always thought about a passanger simulator in the past for FS2004 and lately when checking the internet I found FSPassanger. I
downloaded that and tested it.
It was not quite what I had in mind but hey when you get a hostess on board that brings you coffee, what else do you want then?

The reports are funny and I'd like ot have more of them. But I know that it's thought for rather serious flying. But on a simulator I can't
resist to try out all funny and dangerous things till to the limit and of course over them.
Probabily you saw some of my high penalty HB100 flights from KFSO in the Virtaual Airline DEMO. Flaps and gears do not hold long on
my aircraft *grin*

I have to say FSPassanger is really nice done and adds the missing flight-life-feeling and envoirnement in flightsimulator. Of course I
had to buy it and with it I bought 2005Traffic. I thought if I start to improve FS then add even more life.

It took some time till thea dd on's arrived. But today they where here.

So what did I do? Of course Installed 2005Traffic, reinstalled FSPassenger created a company and planed a short flight:

switzerland/ Zurich(LSZH) to Italy/Pisa(LIRP) half an hour in air flight time (after all this california stuff finnaly some nice europe
envoirenement)

planed 1hour and 5'

and hit start.

Aehm.. hust hust...
FSPassanger started with no problem but the german hostess sound i disliked (ikhh..too late to switch back to english)
It took a little long i have to confess till i created my comapny and everything, and in the meantime 2005traffic created a chain of aircrafts
holding for dep rwy14.
In the queue i realised traffic is overbusy because it only used 1 rwy for dep and app . hu? the airport has 3 rwy's and in real on normal
operation on this airport 2 are used one for dep one for app as far as I know but i can be wrong.

I had to hold 30' minute. When I finnaly could take of and with my mind still wondering what went wrong with the 2005traffic I speeded up
to over 250 for a very short moment and I already saw a 600point penalty on my first official flight. autsch! I will have hugh delay and big
penalty not how i imaged my first flight will looks light.

But fine a pilot can not strop in air so I flow all down to pisa where the controller gave me rwy4L visual whereas there was a rwy4R with
ILS next. (didnt I fill in IFR in my flightplan?).

Ok visual, although I see almost nothing through all that smoke, why not will be funny. Finnaly I report rwy in sight and the atc gave me
clear to land ...as number 3.
Nr 3? There are no aircraft in front of me and I am 30 second before touch down. Then short before touchdown ..he orders a go around
for no real reason, all clear down the full rwy no aircraft waiting, nothing, and I was already 10' late. 'can you repeat pls?' 'say
again?' 'say agai' and he repeated and repeated and repeated: go around. ((
Ok I know in real this would cost all licences but ithis is the point am so glad that this is a simulator becasue somehow I knew he would
never let me land when he send me to a go around for no reason.

I landed, parked and ended the fspassanger flight. Surprised my self I got no penalty for my 252knots iIAS below 10'000 and i really
blieve I have that penalty on (isnt it on on default?). So it has a small tollerance or its not useing IAS speed I am glad, I thought there is
not hit that 250 limit sharp too many times when trying fspassanger and always got penalty. But great not so this time. Also my 11' he
accepted without penalty.
So Igreat no penality on my fisrt flight! *dance*, not that i care a lot about penaltys usually (passanger satisfaction counts more for me)
but I dont really had liked to start my new company with big benalty right on my very first official flight.

Needless to say I was right about something went wrong with the atc in pisa. I watched one after the other aircraft on arival to go around
shortly before touchdown.

2005traffic is completly new to me but I saw that it comes with AFCAD2 and I guess it's simple a matter of adapting that afcad file of this
two airports to make it working correct. At least I hope so. I also did reduce the 100% traffic to 50% now for my next flight, boy till I could
talk to the atc it took always ages. But what shall I say I wanted more 'life' in flight..and I got more life in flight!!! LOL

So this was my first 'official' flight with FSPassanger and 2005Traffic. You really read all this till here? cool.

As for the 30 min wait for take off, a little cheat of you want - pause simulation, switch to 16x speed - switch back to normal speed, -
unpause, all or most aircraft ahead should be gone

Glad you like FsP, it really makes flight simming more alive and the same for 2005Traffic i imagine (i haven't tried it personally).

FsP also makes you more aware of keeping you on your toes like don't go to fast under 10.000ft (And yes, there is a tolerance), lights etc. And the
failures really give it that extra edge.

Some of the comments are also funny (keep a lookout for those easter eggs )

I'm really glad that passenger satisfaction is important for you because I was a little worried looking at your screenshot and finding this:
- Passenger fear: 96%
- Some are lightly injured
But I suppose they were only scared because the flight they enjoyed so much would already end in 1h48'

Of course you made a big mistake here by not serving enough drinks. Always serve drinks until your pax can't remember if they boarded
a plane or a roller coaster

More seriously: I think the strange ATC behaviour can indeed be fixed with a modified afcad. Maybe there are even updated afcads on the
Traffic2005 website or at Avsim.

Well, your first flight was better than mine, I had to land a super27 without flaps at LIRF Well done

It's good that you can't see what I did to get a 'Drunk, stupid or both' comment from the pic. I really flew like on a real rollercoaster, even
worse. Makeing the passanger flying to the roof.

But the seatbell sign handling was on aoutomatic and somewhen they didnt want to losen their seatbells anymore. This cowards! *grin*

Note that that pic was not a pic of my first 'official' flight from lszh to lirp but one of my flights with the demo version were I tested the one
or the other thing. I just was surprised about hearing the flight attendant saying that.

I am still fighting with 2005traffic. I read rather good comments about it but honestely so far I can not see how it deserved that good
ratheing. it messes the things up a lot.

That starts with the voices they replaced. They are much too slow for handling that traffic and also not really great. (will repalce)
Then it keeps useing only one rwy for dep and approach on busy airports, a thing that equals a killing of all traffic flow.
Then I have robinson helicopters starting like airplanes useing the rwy. (i did the fs9.1 patch).
Then i had AI-craft - AI craft crashes on th3 rwy..whereas it not even detected the crash.
Two planes in final at the same time with distance 0 nm. both go around.
One airplane landing far bevore the rwy traveling in on ground.
Unexplainable go arounds with no error in AFCAD2 file (lirp) and no traffic on ground.

An extended AiSmooth program that comes with that package and you have to start before FS and which in my case does not even works
together with FSUIP (FSUIP blocks it out, and i installed that one that comes with 2005traffic).
But also if it would..I dont want to see plane flying holding patterns, if it is really that what it is doing what i read, I want to see them
managed right with an absolut minimum plane send in holding only when their is really no way around this. That's a matter how clever
you manage the trafic and I expect this from a good ATC (program and human).. (i have some 'sim'-atc experience and it's not an
impossibility IMHO)

so my experience with this addons in short is:

FsPassanger, works great and easy no problems (ok minimal, cant handle my screen resoultion with big font right on payload grafik and
also fails to allow a proper adjustment in the payload grafik editon (limits the position to place wrong).

2005traffic, nice traffic and life, but a lot of mess and trouble also.

Most of the problems you mention regarding traffic are fs9 related, not really traffic2005. AISmooth does do a a good job though not perfect either.
But 90 % of weird traffic situations should be solved by using aismooth. What exactly do you mean by the fsuipc is blocking out aismooth? I use both
here without any problem

Third flight done. Zurich - Roma (LIRF)

This time it was absolutly perfect with 2500 traffic, no mess no big queue and all that stuff. Made a lot more joy. I was surprised.

LIRF has 3 rwy parallel 16R,16C,16L and I saw he used at least 2if not all 3 for take off and landing. So no wonder.
I guess the problem in Zurich (lszh) has to do with that it has 2 rwy close to each other 14rwy/16rwy but not parallel. So chooses the one
with the direction it likes best and forget the others..could this be?

Although 2005traffic behave perfect this time (even without AISmooth) FsPassanger made trouble that time.
I landed perfectly in LIRF rwy 16R but FSPAssanger thinks I landed at JFLR the hel-airport (added by 2005traffic or was it there before I
dont know) which is is closer to rwy 16r than the center of the LIRF airport.
got bad pasanger mood and penalty :/

can life with this just need to figure out how I can make FSPassanger work proper with LIRF and JFLR (editing JFR I guess) because the
LIRF looks to be a cool airport for 2005 and want to fly there once again.

whereas I installed AISmooth 1.21 now and run that one ....same result.

strange thing:
he creates a FSUIPC_reg.bin directly on the C:\ root directory (!)
I copied that to the fs2005\module folder weher FSUIPC is at home but didnt help.

Dont know whats wrong. the docs say clearly that FSUIPC needs no registration or anything to run with 2005Traffic but it doesnt work.

the only thing that could be.. i had to reinstall windows once, but i never reinstalled the flightsimulator. the mission registration made
AFCAD later when i testet that prog, for the others i simple had to brows for the fs2004 folder everytime.

Remove everything related to fsuipc from your modules folder (also key and dll files etc). Then copy fsuipc.dll again to modules folder and start up.
This should do the trick. BTW, get the latets version of fsuipc, it solves some minor problems with ai traffic
And yes, the heli stuff installed by traffic 2005 is famous by now, I don't recall exactly the solution anymore but do a search on this forum and you
will find lots about it

I also use FS2005 but replaced ALL the AI aircrafts as IMHO they look like they are made out of cardboard (but I love the english accents
of the controllers).
I manually edited the flightplans and use WoAI and AAV models. I found traffic settings around 50% still too high and now settled down to
40%.
Regarding the problem with helipad being mistaken for your actual airport. Easy solution is to get an airport diagram and pick a gate(or
ramp) furthest away from the helipad. If ATC sends you to a different gate, just ignore it as you won't get penalized for it anyhow
The harder one is to manually edit the afcad-file and either eliminate or displace the location of this helipad that is bothering you.

The runway selection is indeed based on the smallest deviation to the wind. If you have two absolutely parallel rwy's simultaneous
approaches and landing on both runways is handled by ATC pretty correct MINUS the fact that it won't maintain the required safety
distances as in real life. It is "normal" for FS9 to be told by ATC to land on a runway whereas on the parallel one a "heavy" is landing or let
you land right behind a 747 (did they ever hear of wake turbulence ?????).......

Be careful when using smooth-ai in high density areas as it will put quite some cpu-load on your pc when it controls many aircraft. I had
the one or other memory related crash when traffic was set too high with AI (at EDDF for example).

The first pic shows LIRF where you see me beeing so glad I finnaly left that airport behind me after spending again 30' (!) in the queue for
take off. And this queue is still quite long like you can see in the pic.

Always cool when the airpot has 4 rwy (3! paralle and one orthogonal) and the AI prefers to use the one only .

Thanks dutch64 for the help. I deleted all FSUIPC files and installed the latest version 3.7. But I still got the same error. But then I
discovered that I only get it when I strart AISmooth first and than FS. The other way it works and it was a lot busy at LIRF

Really nothing on the rwy . Would help very much if the controller would give a reason. I don't get that.

Ceemosp, I believe I could solve the helicoper airport problem at least for LIRF. I edited the HeliAirport-Reference point shifting it just so
much to the oposide of the LIRF standard that the park pos of the helipads are closer to to the heliairport marker and the LIRF
parkposition to the LIRF marker. At first I tought I can simple shift thje LIRF marker but FS9 seems to use the original airport layer for its
position reference. I could see what airport the park pos belongs by selecting them as start pos in FS9 when creating a flight.

I did not had much cpu problem with AISmooth 1.12 with many aircrafts but I were on ground standing still all the time it managed the
aircrafts in approach l

my traffic slider is on 50%.

For LSZH I closed rwy 16 for landing and rwy 14 for take off. that will help i thing. (rwy14 for take is anyway working bad because the ai
travels some way back on the rwy risking colision with the landing aircraftm where they better would just start from that position.

The LIRF rwy I will not alter. Although i wonder what they do in real. Probabily they dont have such a 'bad' atc like fs9 when it comes to
heavy traffic.

I deleted therobinson helicopter that took of from rwy but nevertheless isaw them 'flying' around.

Still all a lot messy with the AI-traffic and ATC and I wonder if this all can't be done better.

who knows what else top secret capability technologie 2005 gave them.
