Since my SIDS/STARS and scenery databases are up to date, I was quite miffed at the RC controller who instructed me to maintain 8,000
feet until established on the LOC for RWY15 at SPIM(Peru). I should have been at a maximum of 2,000 feet by that point! Of course I
should have just ignored the cuss and descended when I knew I should have done so. At any rate, I got established on the LOC and way
too high, so I declared a missed approach. What a mistake. I got vectored almost 40 nm before getting vectored again to the IAF. Then
the whacky controller gave me the same instruction...maintain 8,000 until established. This time I said, "screw you!" and descended to
the approach altitude. I didn't let my LD767 fly all of that way to just keep doing missed approaches
I got yelled at by the controller, but
at least I got the PAXs to their destination, and I provided the RC controller with the one-finger salute
