PMDG 747 v3 P3D time acceleration issue

Hey guys,

I'm using the PMDG 747v3 for p3d and I noticed that whenever I use time acceleration, FSP is not logging the correct time of the flight anymore.
For example, I switch on the clock in the 747 cockpit on departure and after an 8h flight, my FSP log says that the flight only took 3h or something.

That means that I can't use the arrival time correctly which is a bit sad.

Any ideas?

Hello Falcon,

Perhaps you could post the end of flight report to let us see what you see. Also, did the flight actually take 8 hours with time compression enabled or was it planned for 8 hours without time compression. There is a big difference.

Sure, it took a while but here it is:

The "real" flight time was 10:22h between takeoff and landing. I used the clock on the 747 for that. (can't upload a pic for some reason)
I used 16x time acceleration for the most part of the flight.

You have to consider time zones as well. Putting the time acceleration into the mix can cause you severe headaches if you aren't considering the time differences...GMT.

Also, based on what I have seen so far, this is not a support issue but possibly a misunderstanding of time zones with time acceleration.

Thanks for your answer Joe,

but I don't really understand what you mean.
When I set a planned flight time of 11h30, thats just like a countdown which starts when I release the parking brake for the first time until I set it on the gate at the arrival airport.

The issue I have, is that I am flying with a constant speed of M0.84 at FL330 for nearly 10h of flight with an addition for takeoff and landing.

At 4x time acceleration - no problem at all.
At 16x time acceleration - as you can see in my log - FSP only records 6h11 of an 10h22 flight (stopped time in the cockpit) and I got an average cruise speed of M1.29, which is quite fast for a 747.

Why do you believe that this is a problem when you use 16x time acceleration with a 8 hour difference between Germany and the US? I know that you planned for a certain time duration but you failed to understand the significance of time acceleration. The whole concept of FsP is not built around using time acceleration anyway. More importantly, you miscalculated your arrival based on your constant speed showing on the aircraft display rather than the accelerated speed you induced on the sim. I hope this clears it up.
