Weird AFCAD Problem

Since I'm sure a lot of you have tinkered with Lee Swordy's AFCAD editor, I thought I'd ask this and see if anyone else has experienced this.

I am using what I believe to be his last version to use with FS9 (AFCAD 2.21) and lately I've noticed a strange pattern when opening the airports.

When you start the program, you are presented with a blank canvas and your choices are either create a new airport or open an existing airport. Each
time I select Open Airport, it always does the "Collecting Airports" routine which displays a list of all the airports grouped by country on the left
side.

My strange issue is that I have a pattern in that one time, this "Collecting Airports" routine will complete in about 2 seconds but the next time, it
takes upwards of 60 seconds to return the exact same list. This can be even in the same AFCAD session without adding or modifying any airports in
between. After that, the pattern repeats...3rd time, it collects the airports in about 2 seconds, 4th time in about a minute and so on.

Weird, huh?

I can't for the life of me figure it out. I've tried deleting the index file it uses so that AFCAD could recreate it thinking it might be corrupted.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled hoping that would do the trick. The program works fine, it's just that annoying delay every other time I open an
airport.

Anyone know of a solution?

not shure about that problem i dont use that programe. If it has a support fourm, then id recommend going there, you might get a better
answer

I don't know of any support forum. Mr. Swordy hasn't released an update for this in many years which is why I asked here.

Tim, AFCAD is the same thing as ADE except it works on FS9.

I know im saying he may want to switch to it. as it has a support fourm, and on going updates.

Or get the payware AFX (Airport Facilitator X)...neat little program for sure. Use it fairly frequently on default airports. Never had any technical
issues with it.

Id recomend ADE, it seems to do everything AFX does, except the preview window
and its free, unless you get the pro vertion

Thanks for the recommendations, guys. I had started using AFCAD originally and it was doing everything I wanted it to do, so I stuck with it. It is
quite old and has no updates, so maybe at this point, I should switch. I tried ADE, but still preferred AFCAD but I haven't tried AFX, so maybe I'll
give that a go.
