Okay, got a question here.
First, I just started up a new FsP airline flying Piper Cherokees in and out of the lakes region of New Hampshire (USA). One of the
primary routes will be linking KASH and KLCI. As I'm still working on getting my graphics card upgraded, I'm trying to avoid KMHT as
much as possible in my flightplan (I have Loney's scenery plus PAI traffic which slows me down going past it, using routing with the MHT
VOR).
I have a flight plan setup that keeps me well out of the MHT airspace to the west. I managed to fly it pretty well, with the aid of the gps but,
I want to be able to do it without, using just the OBS, etc. Okay, here's the plan, basically.
Depart KLCI
Follow the 352 radial from CON VOR (course 172) to KCON
Then, pick up the GDM VOR and follow it to the LURCH intersection or thereabouts
Turn to 139 and pickup KASH visually or ILS RWY 14 (or circle to RWY32)
Now, the question is how do I know when to make the turn to 139 degrees? I tried tuning OBS 2 to MHT VOR and aligning the radial to
intersect where the 139 heading into KASH would cross the GDM VOR I'm tracking but, the needle never moved. Perhaps, use the
DERRY NDB and turn when it's bearing equals the right intersection of my current course?
Sorry if this is too basic. I usually fly the big iron along jetways and don't have to deal with this too much.
