Well here is part 2 . Before you read on make sure you have read part 1 (Fun with Freeware aircraft) FSX only!(not Steam)
In the first part we downloaded the KLM 737 from Posky and added 2 wing views/ Fixed an audiophile error with the flaps/ created a right seat view in
VC,and showed you how create your own custom sound folder with an existing cfg. I also had you download the 717-200 aircraft from Rikooo.com.
In part 2 we will add 2 more wing views looking back from the cockpit towards the engines. I will explain how you can change the camera positions to
your own taste. This will be useful so you won't have to move the camera positions( control enter / control backspace/ control+shift+enter/ control+shift
+backspace etc...) every time you load the aircraft. First we will give you the files for these new camera positions below:
[CameraDefinition.2]
Title = "Engine/Left"
Guid = {96883AAD-621B-4C45-8A58-DEF7B7FCB051}
Description = Engine view from passenger window in left side.
Origin = Center
SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel
SnapPbhReturn = FALSE
PanPbhAdjust = Swivel
PanPbhReturn = FALSE
Track = None
ShowAxis = FALSE
AllowZoom = TRUE
InitialZoom = .90
ShowWeather = Yes
InitialXyz = -2.25, 1.5, 15 // -3.25, 1.5, 15
InitialPbh = 8.0, 0.000, 205 // 10.0, 0.000, 215
XyzAdjust = TRUE
Category=Aircraft
MomentumEffect=TRUE
ClipMode=Minimum
[CameraDefinition.3]
Title = "Engine/Right"
Guid = {5c1df274-034b-4e7f-953a-9d5e26f1646c}
Description = Engine view from passenger window in right side.
Origin = Center
SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel
SnapPbhReturn = FALSE
PanPbhAdjust = Swivel
PanPbhReturn = FALSE
Track = None
ShowAxis = FALSE
AllowZoom = TRUE
InitialZoom = .90
ShowWeather = Yes
InitialXyz = 2.25, 1.5, 15 // 3.25, 1.5, 15
InitialPbh = 8.0, 0.000, 155 // 10.0, 0.000, 145
XyzAdjust = TRUE
Category=Aircraft
MomentumEffect=TRUE
ClipMode=Minimum
Copy and paste the above sections below [CameraDefinition.1] in the KLM 737 aircraft cfg file. Remember to leave a space between sections.Click file
and save. (See part 1 if you are not sure where to find your aircraft cfg.folder) So how can you change a permanent camera location more to your taste?
Note the line( InitialXyz=2.25, 1.5, 15 // 3.25, 1.5, 15 ) and( InitialPbh = 8.0, 0.000, 155 // 10.0, 0.000, 145 ) Here is the breakdown:
InitialXyz XYZ Determines the camera's location in relation to the origin, in meters.
x= distance left or right. + is right and - is left.
y= distamce up and down. + is up and _ is down.
z= distance forward and back. + is forward and - is backwards InitialXyz = 20.0, 0.0, -2.0
X Y Z
InitialPbh XYZ Camera pitch, bank and heading orientation offset from the default in degrees.
p= pitch. + is down and - is up.
b= bank. + banks it to the left and - banks it to the right.
h= heading. + is right and - is left. Note: 180=-180, 90=-270. InitialPbh = 0, 0, 180

Swaping Panels
We will now take the boeing 717-200 you downloaded from Rikooo.com , delete the KLM panel folder and replace it with a copy of the 717 panel folder.
Go to the 717 aircraft folder example ( Start / Computer/ C:/ Program files (x86) / Microsoft Games/ Flight Simulator X/ Simobjects/ Airplanes/ B717-200
Open the B717-200 file then copy and paste the panel folder to your desktop.
Now go back to the airplanes section again and locate the KLM 737 folder and open it.
Right click on the panels folder and rename it KLM panel.backup.
Copy and paste the KLM panel.backup folder you renamed into your Documents, then right click and delete the KLM panel.backup folder in the KLM
main folder.
Now copy and paste the panel folder you placed on your desktop(717-200) into the KLM 737 main folder.
With this panel swap you will have all the bells and whistles that you enjoyed with 717. This includes the switches and FSDFX panels. You will notice the
switchs have a clicking sound in VC. So here are the plane features now:
Great Posky KLM model with HD textures
Working wipers
Pilot and co-pilot windows open
4 Window views added
1 Right seat view added
Flaps audiophile corrected
Custom sound file you created
Improved 2D panel swaped out from the original with lots of Bells and whitles
FSDFX Panel
Speed Callouts
Clicking switches in 3D cockpit some in 2D
Activate avionics with a switch on the switches panel. Don't need to start engines to turn the avionics on allowing you to do a real pre-flight set up incuding
Radios/ Navigation/ Autopilot settings etc...
I will create part 3 final fixes soon. If you have questions regarding the procedures leave a reply or just tell me what you think. This was designed to
welcome new simmers to FSX and our wonderful hobby. The final part 3 will fix some switches and show you how to change the way the plane operates
that will include setting high specs for the aircraft ( without going overboard ) This will allow you to run a full flight with a full tank of fuel without tipping the
scales. Great for those who do not want to do a bunch of math to set up flights .
