FSX Opinions......

Many mixed threads about FSX and whatnot, and its hard to just discuss one thing in there so I'll start this thread. As of today, I'm not planning on
getting FSX anytime soon. I am very happy with my FS9 setup, and I don't see why I must start all over again buying new planes, new addons, new
sceneries, etc. Plus, FSX runs very crappy as of now (according to most people). Worse graphics than FS9 and lower frame rates is what I have heard
about it.

I went to the local best buy and sure enough they had FSX on the shelves. However, I decided not to buy it. As of now, I don't need it. FSX cannot
give me anything better than FS9. At the moment, FS9(+addons) is better than the default FSX. Once I buy FSX I will have to spend hundreds of dollars
on new computer hardware to make it run better. For sure I will need a DX10 graphic card. Too bad my motherboard only has PCI slots and I doubt that
there will be many good PCI cards to choose from with DX10. So if I have to upgrade my PC, I will not only need a graphic card but also a
motherboard, and probably some DDR2 RAM. Probably another hard drive to install FSX will also be necessary. I have heard it is around 15GB when
installed. Not a big problem for me but I would like to have a second hard drive for Flight Sim only.

So up to now are a couple of hundred bucks in the making. And if I have to buy Vista, which I probably will, it will be more. And I will do all of
this only to have to do it again in 2 years when FS 11(or 2008 ) comes out? And how am I to offord all of this being just a teenager? I don't even have
a job as of now. I'm too busy with school and haven't made 1 flight in over 5 months. And now I also have to get a job at minimal wage(which I
believe is $5.75 or 6.25 in Chicaog)? And even when I get a job I won't be able to afford all of this stuff. Did you know that gas here used to be
$4.00 per gallon? I will be slaving away working all of the time just to fill my car with gas? Good thing gas has dropped to about $2.69 per gallon.

Anyways, just what I had to say. If oppurtunitiy comes, I will switch to FSX. If not, I will look forward to RW flying- either lessons starting when
I'm almost 17, or military once I'm a bit older.

I agree with you on any aspect.
But unfortunately im very impatience and Im sure i will buy fsx the next week as soon as it comes out, just to have a look at it.
The demo version really dissapointed me, All i saw whats a simulator which has only improved its graphics, thats all about. ATC was as
silly as usual and the planes, well, same story as always.
Graphics are better, not THAT better than fs9 but they are. However im not really a fs VFR pilot as i like the big birds. I hardly see the
ground while im on flight so what for all those superb graphics then?
I was really surpised when i saw the same ATC, really... didn't like it at all, but this time in a SUPERHUGE window.

Exactly right.i have posted this subject on another forum and im with you,FSX will have to be 100 times better b4 i part with my hard
earned money(unless some one buys it for me for my birthday)

Well I know my opionoin will start a war...but its just MY OPIONION. If anyone is to start attacking me I will certainly attack back. Once
again this is my opionion and if you can say " I disagree in a clam way, I will ready your response and respond to it.

I think the second demo was a lot better than the first. The first actually ate more of fps than the second one. I feel like FsX will not be a
challenge to my graphic card, but I know it will lag. Also the minimum wage in the United States is $8.00 per an hour. I think that FsX is
equal to Fs9+addons. I dont know but hopefully everybody has noticed that not all those add on planes(PMDG, FLIGHT D, Flight 1, so on
so forth) bring Virtual cockpit like FsX does. I have to give Microsoft their credit there. I lot more things. I think I forgot like the most
important detail. If you were able to buy add on gates that moved for every airport in FS9, that congragulations you are now considered the
richest man/woman on this earth. FsX is putting details on 20,000 airports for $69.99 on the deluxe version. Just $69.99, while Fly Tampa
scenery would charge $30.00- just for ONE airport. I feel that you can continue to make out the rest that I will say. You may go ahead and
stay what you want to say about this post, but if you attack I will counter that.

FSX= FS9 + addons? Are you trying to say the FSX 747 is like the PMDG one?

Not all of the addon planes for FS9 have VC's? I don't know about you version of the PMDG 747 but mine offers a VC 100x better than anything Microsoft
can offer. So does Level-D.

Most of us didn't buy addon gates for every airport, only for the ones we regularly flew at. And things like FlyTampa are way better than the default
airports in FSX. You know Microsoft. They say one thing and give you another. They sell a horse but deliver a mule.

Do you not see the pattern? How all thing are interconnected. You buy FSX. Then you need to buy better hardware to run it. Perhaps VIsta. Lots of money on addons. Then two years from now you start doing it all over again. Think back on how much money you have given on Flight Sims over the years just to do it again when the next version came out. All of the money you have spent on FS9 is pretty much gone waste if you switch to FSX, because even though many aircraft will be patched out, they will not be up to FSX standards. They will only be FS9 aircraft. And two years from now, after you have spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on hardware or addons for FSX, you have have to start all over again for the next flight sim.

Yes this is the response Im looking for, the first part Im going to have to comment, FsX is going to give VC for EVERY aircraft, the ability for
aircraft developers to mkae plane with VC.I think that the VC in PMDG and Level-D are close enough to FsX, But I wouldnt really know, I
flew a PMDG for 2 days.

Add-on gates, what I'm trying to say is that FsX is not going to charge like Fly Tampa does for add-on gates. 20000 detailed airports for
just about $69.99 is last time I checked less than 20,000 x 30 = $600,000.00, if you look at it from Fly Tampas point of view. Who knows
what will happen in two years. Microsoft might not be allowed to make any more sims. Nobody knows, Hopefully nobody feels like they
HAVE to buy FsX or Fs11 or whatever. Live the moment. Some of us might not be here in two years, some of us might be rich people or
bums. But I do know that everybody here loves avaition and hopefully in two years you brave people will still love avaition.

I can garuantee you that the PMDG and Level-D virtual cockpit is better than the FSX default VC. 100x better. As for the airports, FSX doesn't have
20000 detailed airports, only about 50 (the deluxe). 24000 in total, but only 50 detailed. And how detailed? Microsofts idea of detailed isn't close
to our(simmers) idea of detailed.

Are you really telling me that you will spend all of that money upgrading to FSX just to look at pretty trees and buildings. Or perhaps you wanted to
observe the wildlife. I personally use flight sim for the flying, not for sighseeing. Scenery isn't all that matters to me and its apperantly all that
matters to Microsoft.

I'm not trying to say you shouldn't upgrade to FSX. You can do as you please. I am simply stating my opinion about FSX and wheater I will upgrade. For
me, detailed airports aren't everything (even though I have many detailed[more detailed than Microsoft can offer] airports).
