Thanks for your thoughts on the beta3 you've been working with. As someone who's been involved with the Fileplanet/Gamespy beta and the demo, can you
elaborate on the performance differences between that old build and the "latest" (although old as well) closed Beta3 build? I know I'm late to the
party in this thread, but I'm asking anyway.

I am given to understand that the blurries tweak discovered by a ACES team member wasn't put into the Beta3 code. Can you confirm that the blurries
are the same between the Fileplanet/Gamespy beta/demo code, and the last closed beta build you've used? No need to speculate on how effective it may
be, but I am curious if you have seen it in action.

From what I was told by the development team (I met them at AirVenture), FSX won't support SLI, crossfire, whatever....likewise, it still
doesn't make use of dual core technology.

Of course SLI is "not supported" - SLI, crossfire, etc... all don't need in-game support to work! SLI is supported out-of-the-box, as soon as
you plug them in. But there is some software involvement - It's up to your application to use the GPU(s) heavily. FS9 was a lightweight against the
video cards. FSX is shaping up to be a little heavier, but still nothing like a Far Cry/Halflife or other FPS/gaming title. SLI will be used with FSX
- but apparently considering that FSX won't overly tax the graphics systems of people's computers, SLI is less effective. Perhaps that is where the
"not supported" thought process comes from.

But you MAY want to read a bit more HOW SLI and Crossfire work on their respective manufacturers homepage !!!!!!!!!

To really enjoy the benefits of either system (although SLI depends on it far more than crossfire) the application must be able to use it's
GDI fully and that WAS NOT the case in FS9 and WON'T be the case with FS-X unless your graphics array either supports DX10 (don't tell
me it does) OR the MS guys are heavily lying !!!!!!!

They are very similar but the autogen and heaps of little mistakes and quirks with bloom, shaders etc have been fixed since the build you
guys got but I have to correct you there beta 3 is not closed yet

No, I cannot confirm that unfortunately. My system has never had problems with blurries with FSX ... yet so I cannot say.. sorry

PS For all those who think nothing was done to ATC, vectoring has been approved and you now get warned about other traffic on parallels
for example, couple of other little things but it is not that ATC was not touched at all for this edition of FS

Whats the link to become a beta 3 tester, somehow it should be on the Microsoft page, not only on that stupid FilePlanet thiefs, I could
safely say that 100+ people signed up and PAYED to Fileplanet just to get the Beta.

Question about AI traffic:

In the demo, I made up a traffic file between the islands with TTools and it worked fine with Cessnas but when I tried with the CRJ it didn't
work. Someone in another post said it's because the jet's are required to issue a pushback call. Is this a bug in the demo that's been
fixed or is there something additional that needs to be in either the traffic files or in the aircraft config that is not in FS9?

Sounds good! I was curious because updating my PAI traffic to include about a dozen commuter airlines that they don't have in their
library has been causing me to go grey! I was on the brink of clicking the button to purchase UT and then thought - "What if the traffic files
don't work?" Sounds like they will now, so I guess I'll go ahead and scoff it up.
