Belly Landing a 747-200

Hi All,

Just wanted to share with you a flight I had yesterday that caused me to forfeit my just founded company.
Created a new company with a custom scenario starting with $165,000,000 , just enough to buy a nice 747-200 (RFP).
On the very first flight I was on final to land when my F/O says the gear won't come down ... there were more than 200 people on board the
plane, I decided to belly land , and I did .. the plane went into the ground and the sirens were approaching ... everyone managed to get out
without a scratch, the only problem was the fixing cost ... it was $114 mil to repair the damage !!! , I guess this plane won't be flying
anytime soon ... I was just wondering , is it possible to have a "loan" ? for such cases ? what I had to do was start a new company
because I didn't have enough money to repair the plane.

Nice emergency landing! But if you're going to start off right away with such an expensive aircraft, you definitely need to leave yourself
some big bucks in the bank to deal with problems such as this. In the real world, I wouldn't want to know that I had flown an an airlines
that had no money for aircraft maintenance.

Normally, when buying an aircraft, you should have at least double the money backing it up (Example: Have 80 million when buying a 40
million dollar plane) This of course doesn't happen in the real world (with lots of aircraft being leased, etc.), but in FSP that's my
recommendation. You've got to expect the worse! Here at SWA, we've got nearly 70% of our aircraft fleet paid for. One of the highest
numbers in the business.

I cant belly land either; i always stike tail and crash or just hit the belly and crash.

That panel really was VERY pretty. Looks useful too.

Anyhow, I managed to belly land a DeHavilland DHC8-Q200 down in Iraq in uphill :P Was in a very nice glide towards the ground when my altimeter
suddenly showed that I was descending MUCH faster than my VS indicated. I looked quickly outside and saw the hill forming in front of me. A sudden
rise of the nose saved me from a disaster, and the decrease in speed made me land safely. We slided on the ground somewhere around 50-100ft before
stopping.

Default keys are Ctrl+Sift+i

I belly landed a 747-400 twice no problem. But it was my stupid mistake in the first place! Now to look at that stiff repair bill....

My VA is Cathay Pacific BTW.

Ah so it's payware, no wonder it looks so good. I guess that means I wont be getting it soon; my funds are a little low for the moment
