Great Idea: It would be great to add applause for landing

II don't know if you had already experienced that in a flight, sometime hen the pilots perform a very nice landing, passengers applause because they
are all afraid in a floght.

It would be really nice to add applause 2s or 3s when the last wheel touch the ground when you perform a "nice" or "kiss" landing.
As well as passenger making some comments when you make a hard landing as in a real flight
It will add a lot more "life" during our flight...

I don't think it would be so difficult to program it

What do you think of that ?

Only when you land safely after emergency but never of for a good landing
But remember all your real flights as a passenger, people always applause when the pilots perform a real good landing

They are stressed when the plane takeoff and when the plane lands. Remember at their face.
It would be nice to add this with only some small sounds, like small comments, applause,...

really don't clap after a good landing/flight, but in other countries it's a common occurence. We decided to leave it how it is, since it's not
a feature that most of us can't live without.

It remembers me some years ago, I downloaded a "screetch.wav" which was followed by applause. Very nice, worked ALWAYS. Means that One touch down=one
applause burst. If landing hard and fast enough to bouce, I got a second burst

FSPassengers will reward you with applauses when you land safely after emmergency. But indeed could be also for very smooth landings let's tell below

As you clearly say in US people don't applause after landing and in Europe and some other countries they do
Therefore as the US is not the whole world, it would be nice to create it as an option then...like the crew language...so everyone can be happy

The thing is, I think it is not really hard to code a simple line. The only thing which will take time is to code the switch option bar and that's it

You're free to create a soundpack with an applause after the touchdown sound. That's your choice. Flying is a different experience for
everyone, and if you'd like clapping you're free to create it.

Why not just take a sound like cpl_80kts.wav and prepend one of the applause wav files to it (with a pause between the two sounds for instance)?
Voila, applause after touchdown. Upload it to the site and you will even have made sure that anyone who wants it this way can have landing applause.

It's indeed easy to add applause for each landing, just a wav file to replace. Things becomes more serious when we want applauses triggered only when
deserved like very smooth, or difficult condition.

Applauses are in fact no so common. I remember four times

1) Comming back from New York to Paris with TOWER AIR. We took off 7 hours later than scheduled. The "commercial" attendent barely explained that it was
simply due to problem with the plane status (Ouh lala...). Once in the plane they start counting the passengers in the plane, when someone told the
attendent it would be faster to count the empty seats big mistake she loosed the count and restarted from the bottom...In middle flight, we where
suddenly waked up by the cabin crew running back and forth asking to people in deep sleep to go back to their seats and fasten the seat belts. Already
fastened and in my seat I went back in my sleep session to be re-awaked by an attendent telling that is was now safe to release the belt ...
Finally when landing on Orly, a nice applause started all over the plane. Probably more due to nervous tension release than real crew performances.

2) Another was in domestic flight Orly to Marseille. No any trouble in the flight but a so smooth landing that we did not feel anything when the A300
touched down, just the sound and vibrations of weels rumpbling on the runway .

3) A nother landing at Ben Gurion Tel Aviv. Nothing special, average good landing but pleasure to be there.

4) Last one was mor humoristic or may be to be forgiven by the captain of this Lufthansa B737. There was an incident before take off with a mobile phone
ringing triggering take off abort. The captain very serious made a moral lecture to us, asked "who was it" . This ended in a general laugh crisis. Too
contagious, even the flight attendents could not refrain laughing
The captain was upset like hell. So when landing quite nicely at Roissy , as compensation, he got a nice applause burst.

By the way, could laugh be implemented in FSP ?

I beg to differ. Applause mostly happens on vacation/charter flights. And the audience in those case don't have the slightest clue about a good
landing or not - they applaude anyway. If the touchdown is smooth, they applaude because "hey, this pilot really knows his stuff", it it's hard, they
applaud because "hey, seems it was a tough landing and yet they made it".

Clueless charterflight vacation cattle in a party modd = applause at landing. That's the equation, in my opinion.

And if you look at it that way, it's not surprising that it doesn't happen on national flights, like in the US. On a business trip from Munich to
Hamburg you won't hear applause either.

I agree with Nem. If you want an applause, just combine the file with another wav file that already plays after touchdown. That seems like
the easy way!

Actually I'm experementig with merging files right now, I'll try them out on the next flight and if it feels ok I'll upload the replacement files for
all crew sound packages.
