Again wrong destination

Fabrytnix does sound like someone who will constantly complain about a product but will use it despite his hang-ups about it. When a
person experiences problems with FSP, as evidenced by the many posts I've seen in the forums, they are usually caused by the USER. If
this guy wants a "perfect" product, he should go hire a bunch of MIT programmers to build his own Wizard of Oz flight sim loaded to the
hilt with his own "perfect" passengers version, distribute it for sale ,and then open a support forum for someone like him to babble on
about Fabrytnix's imperfect "perfect" product.

WHAT?? Have you not understood anything we have said here? Mind you as a mere spokesperson I will say it again, there is nothing to
solve... as long as the MS engine is like it is there is nothing that can be done about it DEFIF is an even worse alternative and I have been
testing the airfields you so fiercely told us about in your original post over the last few days and not ONCE have I gotten a "wrong
destination airport" penalty and I have parked at multiple different gates/parking spots at each airport. Nothing is perfect in this world and
surely your name is not "Nothing" my friend.

Nobody ever said it is perfect, problem is that you want the whole game (fs + fsp + gps + etc. etc.) to be perfect.
There is no polemic at all, you only seem to have difficulties realising that FsP does a very good job determining where you
have landed. Seems like
you simply cannot accept that, you want it to be "solved".
Problem is that the solution you mentioned would cause the same side effects.
So, as a workaround for yourself, you could for example remove the afcad for LHD.

If I understand well the problem is that although a plane is parked on the right airport. it can be nearer to a small airport in the
neighbourhood. The drawing posted by Spokesman Drew tells it better than any words: easy to be parked at PANC but closer to LHD
center than PANC center.
Changing the airport database or checking at touch down would just move the problem but not remove it (nice isn't it )

The first condition to get the right answer is to ask the right question:
So, obviously, to check if the plane is at the right airport, the question is not "Which is the closest airport?" but "How far is the plane from
the scheduled airport ?"

Then, a test like
IF (PlaneToPANCCoord <= MaxAcceptabeDistance) THEN YouDidIt := TRUE;

should do the job.

How to fix this "Max acceptable distance" ?
Perhaps the answer is also on Drew's figure. In FSNAV airports are always in one ore several brown circles. If the data is picked by
FSNAV from FS2004 airport database, then it should be possible to
Get the circle center(s) and ray(s) of the scheduled airport and check if the plane is at less than the ray length to the related center.


If this distance is unavailable, perhaps a (user editable) value of about a long runway, let's tell 12000 feets would fit ?

Softwares are currently designed, written ant tested by humans. As consequence, all of them can indeed be improved. NB, the same
remark is true about our way to use the softawares as they currently are

You are 100% right to ask for improvements on FSP but...
You are 200% wrong in the way and tone to ask it. What hell is the point undermining the individual qualities of the team who worked on
the current FsP just because by time we get some unfair penalties? An undeserved -300 can't be an excuse for insults or even a "DO IT
RIGHT NOW" harsh obligation.

This is not only because problems are usually better solved by friendly cooperation between users and designers. But simply, if
something cannot be delivered as long as it is not perfect... just imagine:

You pay an architect and builders for a house. As they are honest and serious upon your criteria, as soon as they see something which
could be better , they re-build... You woulsd simply never get your house. Human life would be building houses at day and sleeping
outdoor at night Useless to tell that we would have to forget about flight simming etc.

Is it such a world you are dreaming about Fabrizio ?

Sure you can and more likely, landing with your B 777 or A 340 on LHD, you would be credited for a splendis "SPLAACH !!!"

But don't worry, I have two perfect solutions in store for you Martin
- Becomes a perfect pilot, then no more hassle with such irrelevant details
Or (could be easyer but still perfect)
- Schedule a landing on LHC and land deliberately at... PANC

The default AFCAD cover mach more airports than LHD, PANC too
I've already tried to do it, and the problem is not only at PANC

On the following screenshot, my plane is parked at the north end of the PANC tarmac. Indeed, here I am closer to the center of Z41 and, indeed, as
the GPS point Z41 as closest airport, FsP checks me at Z41

Then for sure, If I park there at the end of a flight in destination to PANC, BING !!! -300 for wrong airport....although I actually am on PANC

We went to this destination and some others like this during our world tour and never got such trouble, Why? because as we parked on gates next to
the bar, which are always at suitable central point, we where always close to the center. As simple as this

Then, Fabrizio, after landing, go parking next to the bar and tell good by for ever to these undeserved destination pens

OK, I already hear the following question: "I am ne here how the hell can I guess xhere is the bar ?

Answer: Asks Mr Garmin, he is stronger than Gault & Millau and the Guide Michelin all together
