Just because you have no reason to register FSUIPC doesn't make it a "stupid little .dll file". I'm sure there is a ton of work that has gone
into FSUIPC over the years, and with the features available, many FS users see it as a "must have" add-on, including me. The many
weather fixing features alone were worth the money to me, like the smoothing of visibility changes, wind change smoothing, etc..

Flight Simulator caused me to crash several times with it's radical changes in wind direction and speed, so I immediately spent the
money on FSUIPC to stop the problem. The peace of mind that I will never have to deal with an aircraft overstress due to FS9 weather
again made my FSUIPC purchase worth every cent.

And it does so much more! It's far from stupid...and little.

From what I understand, the registered version of FSUIPC simply allows you to edit more options involved with more technical issues in
FS9. I played around with the unregistered version, and noticed that a lot of the "tabs" at the top of the FSUIPC screen were missing.
There were only two. Registering it simply allows you more control than the unregistered version.

I too agree that the price is a little high. As previously mentioned, $10 to $15 would have been reasonable. I purchased it originally
because I didn't know it worked unregistered. I though you had to buy it Looking back on it, I'm glad I did register it though, simply
because of the extra control it offers.

I'm going to check out "FSMetar" as well... I'd love an external weather program, and I'm still not too sure about ASV.

Alright, Its high time I defended myself, All I simply asked was to see if I Dan could remove some unfair points (which in thinking it over wasnt
really needed anyways, due to the fact Im gonna be flying GA aircraft for while till my company gets off the ground) and stated an opinion, I was mad
and upset. I wont say its useless, but it is small and well overpriced. If it starts free it should stay that way. And Im sorry I cant afford it, I
really am, BUT Im not sorry I spent what money I had on FSP instead of a DLL file.

Someone please lock this thread before it gets well out of control.

And to the smart aleck who said this is FS9 problem, youre darned right, HOWEVER, I cannot fix it as seeing how I dont know squat about programming, why dont you try fixing it then? (I have to say this microsofts buggiest program with no fixes in sight)

I think you're taking everything the wrong way. Everyone simply recommended that it's worth purchasing FSUIPC. No where did
anyone force it on you, or treat you badly. If you don't want to purchase it, and can't justify the price, no one's going to force you to get it.
Simply ignore the recommendations of people. That's your option.

Just one thing to add. Since I see that a couple of you fellows are thinking of FSMetar, I'd better clarify. The code to make it work with
FSUIPC is not on Pete Dowson's page. When you download FSMetar and unzip it, within the folder is a small 1kB text file with the unlock
code. Just wanted to clarify before you fellows go looking for the needle in the haystack.

I believe that code is simply to allow FSMetar to work with an unregistered copy of FSP. I don't think it will work in registering FSP... you've
actually got to buy it.

No, dude, to make FSMetar work, you must enter this code into FSUIPC, not FSPassengers. I already bought FPPassengers. But the
code's not working for FSUIPC.

Typically, modules that allow un-activated full use of FSP, will automatically enter the registration information in your FSUIPC.key file.
Take a look, and see if it mentions an FSMetar module. Shouldn't have any problems.

As I said above, the correct code to enter into FSUIPC is in a small text file within the FSMetar folder. Here's what to do:

Start FS9
Go to the task bar up top and under Modules, click on FSUIPC
Click on Register and Application program
Enter the name of the program as FSMetar. DO NOT type the .exe
Enter the code as u90o 7amh 4pai (Notice that the code starts with the letter u, numbers 90 and letter o)
You're now good to go.

Remember, This is only done on an unregistered copy of FSUIPC. Also there's nothing wrong with this as in piracy or whatever. Pete Dowson has allowed us to use many programs with an unregistered version of his program and has furnished these codes.

I know that my PMDG 737, and another module automatically entered their codes in FSUIPC. I never had to manually enter anything
except my registration code (when I purchased it).

Sovek, I am the "smart aleck" that pointed out the obvious. This is an FS9 problem.

You then say " I cannot fix it as seeing how I dont know squat about programming, why dont you try fixing it then?" Which means you are still missing
my point. This is not what this forum is about, At the very least, post in the FS2004 General section, but you would be better served on a
dedicated FS site.
