[POLL] I'm reworking the destination time... any advice ?

Ok I'm now reworking the "destination time" (arrival time) now instead of setting your planned
arrival time (GMT) you'll need to enter your FLIGHT DURATION....

now the question:

I can take in account only the time airborne or the time BLOCK/BLOCK

the time airbrone everyone undrestand what is it (when your weel don't touch the ground until it touch again
and the time BLOCK/BLOCK is when your unset the parking brake at departure
until you set them again at arrival.

notice the block block even more "exact" for your passengers may cause problem for peoples
that love to set them at intermediate stage as waiting before lining up and such.

I think the time airborne will be less subject to small irritating bug of this sort.
so what you think ?

2-block/block
3-other suggestion ?

But why makeit only dependent on the parking brake? Other flight management tools (FlightKeeper e.g.) allow for more than one event to happen before
they assume that you're on block again, like parking brake plus engine cutoff.

notice block time is a bit more complicated... also it's not really possible to detect
without any problem the last parking brake as one can stop a flight without shuting down
the engine.

so the "counter stop" will be the first time you set your parking brake at arrival
and the "start" time the first time you unset it at departure.

Anyway the new method will be more appealing, the short display will show the remaining time until arrival
(and negative time if your late

Apologies if it is a totally unuseful comment but you could disable "End Flight" (grayed out) unless the engines are off.

I vote block time too.

This would annoy people that want to end their flight immediattely
and complicate a bit the things (ie: we'll be flooded by "I caaaaaaaaaaaaaant stop my flight" post)
for only a litle benefit. (what I can do at arrival is run the counter as long as your parking brake are not set
so even if you stop to cross landing strip the counter will restart when you unset them... not 100% cool
but definitively not so uggly)

Also a lot of people don't like to start/cutoff engine and even don't know how to do it.

1- I vote block time as well.

That way you can land at multiple airports for refueling or pretend on anything else, then resume your flight without penalty as long as you
don't set brake in between.

Airborne would not make that possible.

I appreciate this change and definitely vote block time. That way it's easy to pick the time from a realworld schedule and fly. Also
from the passengers perspective it's the block time that counts. That is the time they're "on the way". How about using the parking brake
and the door?

It's been said that it is more realistic to use Block time from a passengers perspective, but since it is all abstracted it doesn't really
matter. What you are saying in this case is that it is OK to be penalized because all of a sudden you have to wait for five AI flights to land,
(which is not realistic at all) or you have to wait for five flights ahead of you, (which you may not have the schedules for!) to take off. If you
take flight time then at least it takes into account pilot skill possible weather avoidance etc... There will always be little Flightsim
gremlins, but it seems to me that Flight time is the more fair way to judge things if penalties are involved.
Of course if one is not using AI add-on traffic then Block time would be fine, but personally, I use all of project AI's stuff as well as some
others which can make for some unexpected holds at the runway.
