No this isnt about where to get the cracked or an illegal copy of FSP, but if you have considered it, please take a
few minutes to read all
the way through. This is a hope that they may read this before considering trying to install FSP from a website
without actually purchasing
it legitimately. This thread is also for those who think FSP is too expensive...

Lets start off with why am I posting this.

If you have read through the forums here, and on various websites you will see the level of enjoyment many have
gotten from
FSPassengers. Many who have tried the demo wind up buying the software because it really is that good (I
personally have spend
thousands...yes thousands of dollars on payware additions from utilities, to aircraft, to sceneries, etc). For those
that have felt what FSP
offers was lacking in the flight sim, its now available. Airlines...reasons to make that perfect landing....failures that
actually mean
something and make the flight dependent on your skills, making money, buying newer or better aircraft, basically
immersing yourself into
the sim rather than just flying around from point A to point B. FSP adds A LOT to your experience.

Before you look for the cracked version somewhere on the world wide web, consider this. The developer, who we
all know is Dan, has
stated he has worked countless hours making FSP. I would fathom a guess he too is an avid simmer who knew
there was something
lacking in the sim, and he did something about it. If I read correctly, something like 3000 hours of programming
fixing, editing, making it
right, went into FSP. A YEAR's worth of work. Diligent work at that. Exceptional work too. Enjoyable for us, but Im
sure tedious for a
programmer. What is so bad about spending a few dollars on a program? With today's prices, the cost of FSP
gives me 3/4 of a tank of
gas for my car, 2 movie tickets and a small popcorn and maybe a drink, or a decent meal at an average restaurant.
However it gives me
hours that become days, that become MONTHS and YEARS of total enjoyment in something we all enjoy...Flight
simming.

Dont steal his work. And yes its stealing. Dan is a one man crew with beta testers and a few that helped along the
way, but 99% was
Dan. Not some big corporation like Sony, Microsoft, Paramount Pictures, etc....One man...Dan. If you try to install a
cracked FSP you are
taking money from his pockets. Money I think is very much deserved.

Dont believe me that its deserved? Read the forums. Look at how much he tries to make a great program even
better! Have an issue with
FSP from something as small as a spelling error to issues getting FSP to run properly? Who is there to help? Dan
is, as are his Admins
here. His customer service is unparalleled in the simming community.

Look at companies like Lago. decent products, some overpriced in my opinion, and some great products like FSE,
but their customer
support is some of the worst. Thats not something you find here.

Before you think I am affiliated with FSP in any way, Im not. Im just a flight sim hobbiest like yourself, but I can see
value where there is
value as Im sure you can as well.

So before you try to install a "cracked" version, or even search for one, remember that one man and a few helpers
have made something
incredibly useful for us simmers. Something that is downright enjoyable. Would you want someone to take money
from your pockets? Do
you just randomly see someone and hand them $40 from your own pocket? Do you care if someone breaks into
your house and steals
something of yours? Do you hope when out shopping someone pickpockets your wallet? In essence you are
pickpocketing Dan when
you download a cracked version of the software.

Dont do it. Go without seeing that movie. Dont go out and eat that night. Eat at home. If money is that tight budget
better. Even if making
minimum wage, you are spending less than a day's wages for FSP, but removing money from a years worth of
work from Dan.

Think about it before you do it, and just legitimately purchase FSP. Its worth every penny. Even if no one responds
to this, I hope it sinks
into someone's head.

I actually tried searching for a crack for fspassengers but it was so good i ended up buying it anyway because i was tired of only taking off from san
francisco Most other
payware programs I would have just given up.

Glad to hear all this. Although, as much as we prais Dan, and explain why 'stealing is bad' to others. I am agraid this post will have little/no
effect on someone pirating the softweare. What you can do is be dilligent. If you find a cracked code, send it to Dan.

Good statement! People should have no reason to pirate since the demo contains the full functionality, only limited to one start airport. If
people pirate the softare their only intention is to save money...

As you mentioned in this post.. to develop a product like this takes alot of hard work (time) as well as dedication. Now what many people forget is that by cracking software like this OR by using a cracked version of the software there is also another thing other that it can be regarded as
theft... the fact that people like Dan needs the income... the more people that buys the product the more income and in return the better the product will become. Now remember this isnt FS2004... meaning the user base is smaller and when one has a smaller user-base the amount of potential income is of course less (not saying it isnt good income) BUT the more people that uses cracked versions will in effect result in that user base getting even smaller... as you cant count pirates into a user-base... and the less income the greater the financial strain might be on people like Dan to build in all the features he would love to... therefore resulting in products being less what they can be due to restricted funding.. not due to lack of dedication, skill or knowledge but due to lack of funding... unless the author/developer has unlimited funds to tap from... which is usually not the case.

Therefore if you are someone that are using a pirated version... think for a second of the ripple effect... think about it that your contribution (if
you buy the program) will result in a growing product... a product that will ensure countless hours of fun into the future. Think about it... that
without funds, people like Dan can not deliver their best and can not build in all those fresh ideas improving the program every day the way they
would like to... think that if everyone pirated products like these that we wont have these kind of program to enjoy ourselfes with. Think of a world without addons like this for your favourite game... then think of how you might even enjoy the program more, knowing you are helping the author to improve it with the purchase of the program... that is even a bigger satisfaction as you then can also truly feel part of the products cimmunity as well. If you are pirating and all this above doesnt make sense to you, then i think you probably live a very empty life.

Also those using the free version... i know its not required but think about buying it IF you really enjoy it... as it will ensure an even better
product. Im using the free version and feel guilty that I havent bought it yet BUT I have to wait for the end of the month for my finances to enable
me to buy it (so wife dont kill me).... as I already made the decision that this program is worth every penny and more... it will be my next payed for
addon. To those that have bought it... thats for your contributions as your contributions are making this addon available to us the community. This is a great product and we have a very very dedicated developer (Dan) and community... something very rare in a product like this... and dont we want to keep it that way... all it takes is helping with your contribution.

Sorry about rambling about above mentioned but I felt I had to mention why I feel strongly that people should contribute with purchasing the product if they enjoy it.

Thanks Dan for a wonderful product. I also would like to thank people like SWAFO etc... for their dedication and contributions. I dont know how many of you actually realize how much effort some people are putting in. They dont have to do it, but they are... not for themselfes but for you and me to make our FS experience even a more enjoyable one. I enjoy logging in and reading the forums... maybe answering a question or 2 IF i can help with my limited knowledge... but I can honestly say these are the most enjoyable Add-On and Forums... the community is great..

Very nice post! I didn't notice it because it was a sticky... lol. Sorry for not replying earlier. I agree with everything you said, especially the
fact that using a crack is STEALING software. Would you steal a video game from a store? Most people wouldn't. It's the same damn
thing! If you're thinking about stealing any program, think twice about who you're hurting.... the developers. These developers work
countless hours to make a decent program. Look at paying for FSP as a way of saying "thank you". Just wanted to add my 2 cents.

I think someone (SaVas) is trying to get moderator points here! Good job!

The thing is that never wanted to try out the demo!

From the forum, I saw it immediately that this FSP will be something GRAND, and I wanted to be part of this experience, so I bought it
right away. I just hope that Dan will get properly ( turboprop-erly ) compensated after all. If I remember well, Dan said during the early
days of release that when he gets even (financially), he will organize a party for us. So I am just waiting for the call.
