FSPassengers Suitable For Beginners?

I am fairly new to Flight Simulator and are thinking of trying out this as it would add a bit of purpose to the
simulator that it seems to be missing.
What I would like to know is, is it scallable for beginners? Can you turn off a lot of the penalties to make it easy for
beginners?

I have not tried the demo yet. I amalways wary about installing demo's after a few problems with demo games my
children have installed and could not
remove completely.

One last thing since it only seems to be available by download, does it require product activation etc. I noticed in
the pictures that you get the
patches by live update. I keep the web use to a completely seperate PC so can the patches and program and
registration be downloaded and transfered to
another PC. I have not purchased any downloadable software but have heard of problems others have had with
registering programs they use on non web
based PC's.

It certainly looks good.

Actually Mark, I think it would be a great addition for a beginner, but leave the penalties on. Reason is it will help with the flight sims
learning curve. You can start off in one of the various paths in FSP like a beginning pilot and purchase a small plane like a Cessna 172
then work your way up as you get better.

As for the software downloads and such, that I cannot answer however I had no problem downloading and installing FSP and entering
my product key on this PC.

Im sure you could download it, purchase it, burn it to CD (which I tend to do with most of my payware addons as back ups, although Im a
bit behind in doing so) and install it on your flight simming computer

Most, if not all of the penalties can be turned on or off, giving you the ability to customise FsP to your abilities, and as you grow as a pilot,
you can re-introduce penalties to keep things interesting.

With regards to product activation, when you buy the product you are sent a code, you only need to enter this code into your version of FsP
to activate it. This means you can activate FsP with the setup you've described, and not experience any problems.

Uninstalling FsP leave no files at all on your pc nor in the registry
(given that you use the uninstall provided)

Yes, FsP would be a great addition for a beginner pilot. I would also recommend that you keep most of the penalties on as they will increase your
learning curve and make you a better pilot faster. Once you are proficient, you can always start a new pilot with a new company if you want.

About the installation. FsP is registered by Name/Key. The information is emailed to you and you have to copy it into the program. You can indeed
install FsP to a non-internet computer. When you want to update, you'll just have to download the upgrade and reinstall.

I strongly encourage you to try the demo. From my experience, it does a clean uninstall when removed.

You should acquire some flying skills for FS first.

I mean like you take up those flying lessons and stuffs until you're capable of doing a full airport - airport procedure flawlessly.

Are you serious? I've been flying for 11 years (real world), and I'll be damned if I can do any procedure flawlessly. lol... Seriously, FSP
can be a great learning tool for the beginning simmer. Beware that it also packs a realism punch with it. You're going to have to do
things the way us real pilots do them when we're flying.

It's always worth trying it out. There's a free demo mode available, and if after trying it, you determine that you're not fit to fly with it yet,
simply wait. FSP isn't going anywhere.

I have to say that didn't fly with FS2004 a lot before beta testing FsP. I must say FsP is one of the best way to learn to enjoy FS2004. In
fact, it answer this old question "What is the goal of Flight sim?" FsP give you this goal.

And since FsP is fully customizable, you won't get too much penalties if you don't use lights and pressure penalties.

Anyway, try the demo: easy to install, easy to uninstall!!

Thanks for all the replies.
I have downloaded the trial and will give it a go.

I will definalely have to practise some procedures as I skip a lot of them now. But this should give some purpose to the ones I used to skip.

He's new to FS and i supposed he got no ideas how to do the procedures. He's just got to master them, ok not 100% flawlessly :P

You are correct, I can get up and fly but I never use procedures.
But then that is my next step.

Thats the thing I like about Flight Simulator, always something to learn.

It's best to take the default flying lessons from PPL to ATPL
