Engine Failure Mid-flight.

Anyone experience an engine failure in the middle of a flight? I always seem to get them on my climb after takeoff or descent for a
landing. Would be fun to experience one over the middle of the ocean

lol, i got 1 in the middle of the ocean when i was flyin my concorde to heathrow, it took 1 and a half hours to descend from 50,000 feet and
ditch in the ocean

yes had them mid flight, had one about 3 flights ago actually.

oil pressure rose, then lost the engine

Generally, engine flameouts don't occur in cruise. Usually they occur on takeoff since that is when the engines are at max power.

That is what I was thinking, but I was wondering if they just randomly happened. Are there any emergencies that can happen while
cruising? I think it would spice things up a bit during those many hours of flying.

as stated above, engines do fail at cruise

also you can have a fuel tank leak (which i got the flight before the engine fail)
cracked window is another one that can happen at cruise

If you have a fuel leak, it can lead to an engine flameout. And worse, loss of all electrical power except to the RAT( Ram Air Turbine),
which powers the most basic instruments. All other power will cut of. Without the RAT, only the Standby Instruments are powered by the
Battery and the Standby Battery. With the RAT, you will get power to the Captain's PFD and ND. Your APU could provide electrical power
and bleed air, but remember, it need fuel too. Also, with loss of that much electrical power, your aircraft will depressurise.

hey jetdude, even in the middle of the ocean at 50,000 feet you should be able to cruise to at least iceland, use best glide speed next
time, depending on where u were u could have made it to heathrow from there!!!!!

1) He'd have to be flying with Concorde to be cruising at FL500.

2) If he had a single engine flameout, it wouldn't bring his plane down. A jetliner is desinged to be able to fly on 1 engine for hours. For
example, the 777's ETOPS is around 180 minutes or more. It depends on the airline and some reach up to 4 hours( or 240 minutes). Of
course, this provides some safety margin over how long the plane can actually fly on 1 engine. If you follow ETOPS(which you should), a
single engine failure wouldn't cause you to crash. You can fly on the remaining engine for hours. And a doulbe engine failure to occer in
Real Life would be almost none(with the exception of flamout do to fuel starvation).

I have also lost 1 engine midflight. Luckely i was flying the PMDG 747 so i had 3 engines left and continued. It was oil probs. Think it was oil
temperature, if i just kept looking at the EICAS, i would have avoided it..
After the engine failure, the system recommended new cruising altitude and speed based on only having 3 engines left.

In real life, if you get an engine flameout, the EICAS shows the recommended speeds and altitudes for engine restart in magenta. But I
dont know if its modeled on the PMDG747, or the LevelD 767.

ivo he was flying the concorde, but in my 152 at 60 KIAS i can glide for about 25-30 miles from like 4-6,000 feet depending on the wind.

I got a engine flame out, on a flight that was about 700NM, it went out at about 300NM, in and the nearest aiport was 400NM away, I was
using PMDG so it was reallly easy, just put it at the alttitude my FMC told me, and I landed at the Aiport saftly.

yea but 1 failed and 2 turned off, i was foolin around and put less fuel in 2 of the engines
