Exact Flight time?

Hello,

how can i get the exact flight time of a flight ? When I write down my destination in FSPassengers, next to it i can choose the flight time.
Well I am using the Level D 767 and I always took the flight time, which my FMC gave me after I wrote down the whole route. Well, and in
fact i had always about 40 - 50 minutes left after the flight...is this normal?

Add half an hour to Fs routhe planner time. Around a 2-4 hour flight, if you obey 250K rule, thsi mostly works for me in my 737 give or take
10 mins or so.

Remember that say, Heathrow taxi takes 20 mins longer than say regional airport.

the inability for you to state a flight time is becoz u still not doing the whole thing as real as it gets... Firstly u need a valid flight planner to
plot the route, then if u are with some VA or u are simulating a RW airline flight then take the flight time (block to block) from the details,
check it with the route you polotted and compare the distance and time with the wind, a general rule used in 747-400 is time x wind and
where wind is average - when tail and + when head. Calculate your enroute flightime adding a considerable amount of minutes for the
taxi and extra operations u expect, based mainly on your experience.

As i got 850+ hrs experience on my shoulder i can very easily calculare exact flight time and fuel and having a very low error margin on
arrival. That is achievable with experience and some good readings on SOPs and guides...

The best way is to fly your flight as normal, record the flight time as per recorded by FSP, go back in time and enter said time into FSP. Works like
a gem.

not quite.... my experience says that every flight is different and i did read this also on some training material....

In fact you could have to hold enroute on some flights or maybe there could be a high tail/head wind, maybe u taxied to a far runway.... all
factors that can make u spend more time, u cant just record exact flight time and re-use that for a future flihgt, u might get an idea of the
flight time but it would be a mistake to use it as exact.

Just get a flight planner like FSnavigator 4.7 or even the free 3.0 version.... you can set waypoints and have a flight time calculated based
on the speed of the plane, add/substract time as wind factor and add a general 20 minutes (10 for each) taxi edit where necessary and u
got a nice flight time. There are a lot of flight planner out there and if u are with some VA or simulating a RW flihgt then no worry for the
flight time, u have to fly according to the time published and try to make the FP and set speed as needed. Not a simple job but not hard
either

Aha aha, but in your "tests" you did not go back in time, did you? I think not. This is a crucial element in my plan.

Another good flight planning program. Usually, I add 20 minutes to what it gives me for ground time and I'm almost always on time.
