I saw a Dan that did not give a satisfaction to his customers, then he appeared and was constantly online, now disappeared again, I know everyone has problems, Dan is not different at all, but I think a "hi" would already be something good , is the minimum for us fans of the FSP, if launching the 64bit FSP I will be very happy, but I have no expectations of a new FSP, if not launch will not change my flights at all.

Ok no entitlement or anything, so please don't misunderstand me... but you have hundreds of loyal customers who expect your loyalty to them in return. You have problems slowing progress down, that's fine... that's the normal even. That's life. But don't ignore your customers. That's steps towards losing them

Say something, make an announcement, reply to us, talk to us.... you cancelled the project... say so... still working on it but there's delays, say so as well... but disappearing for months with no response or announcement is disrespect to your customers. All of us are here waiting for you to allow us to pay you, asking when can we pay you, and you choose to ignore us... not really the way yea?

When there's a hiccup that changes things or a decision to cancel all, at least talk to your customers and tell them that there's a change in what you promised. Easy, no one will mind it, no one have the right to, but ignoring us is a really bad way to do business

Dan hasn't been online in the forum in a month and we are now 2 days away from October.

We went from no news, to an update just about daily if not weekly, to Dan on vacation, to Dan returns from vacation and come online in the forum, to no news again. We have gone backwards. But, in Dan's defense, he did not technically specify which September there was a 98% chance of release. Maybe he meant September 2025

It seems to me in the Flusimulator scene unfortunately more and more often to come. Something is announced, and then you are quite disappointed. I wait like all the others also patiently. But slowly I really have to look for an alternative. A pity

Agreed, willl look for replacement. Air Hauler 2... very slow development progress, but at least when I contact them, they reply back. This thing here, as great as it was one day, seems we'll only talk about it in the past tense now

We may not need a v5 ... The issue here is FSP was written in 32-bit code but P3dv4 and higher is 64-bit code. Once it's converted (if ever) it would work until a 128-bit operating system and flight sim comes out. But given how much 62-bit can handle, that also, is likely never to happen in any of our lifetimes. Even quantum computers are perfectly happy with 64-bit.

Here is a quote referring to VAS (Virtual Address Space (why most people with more than a handful of nice add-ons in FSX get OOM errors and crashes, and why we have migrated on to a 64-bit platform)):
"On Microsoft Windows 64-bit, in a process running an executable that was linked with /LARGEADDRESSAWARE:NO, the operating system artificially limits the user mode portion of the process's virtual address space to 2 GiB. This applies to both 32- and 64-bit executables. Processes running executables that were linked with the /LARGEADDRESSAWARE:YES option, which is the default for 64-bit Visual Studio 2010 and later, have access to more than 2 GiB of virtual address space: Up to 4 GiB for 32-bit executables, up to 8 TiB for 64-bit executables in Windows through Windows 8, and up to 128 TiB for 64-bit executables in Windows 8.1 and later."


Point is, all we need is a 64-bit version of FSP and we are set for the rest of our lives aside from whatever cosmetic updates Dan would like to do. But the base program will work 100%.

Most of us understand that Dan has a life outside of this pet-project, but our disappointment comes simply from a lack of communication.

Maybe someone who knows Dan personally, can make him aware that people here want some information about how things stand!
But probably that's too much to ask ..

Just so everyone knows, I have emailed Dan a couple of times during the past 2+ weeks and have not received a reply. Apparently something deeply personal may be happening in his life that requires his full attention. Wish I had more information to give everyone.

Sounds like a solid business model. (because nothing here is 'given away' EverSeen, ironically short-sighted, given your name)
