Flight Status Uploader?

Hey!

Well, I have been wondering this for awhile, and I don't know if this is possible. I have seen it done on multiplayer servers, but I am not sure about
single.

Is their any time of program / addon that can take your information (location, speed, altitude, etc) and upload it to a webserver. Kind of what FSP
does for the VA, but have it automatic every minute or so?

For example, something that they do in real life aviation:

So I was just wondering? With Single player is their something out their that can do this?

FSACARS has that cabability but it usually requires you to be a part of a VA. It has a real-time map and a radio function that allows you to
communicate with other pilots in your VA while flying. It can be used with FSPax, I tested it with my old VA.

The best thing about FsAcars is it is freeware. Other than that it requires some PHP knowledge if you want to use it for yourself, it has some
nasty bugs and also some drawbacks like not being able to determine if you landed at the planned destination or somewhere else. Some
things can be worked around with custom PHP scripting but it's a lot of work. Also there's no in-built real-time map or stuff like that, all this has
to be coded by the VA.

Alternatively you may have a look at FS Flight Keeper. It's payware but, for what it offers, 25 EUR is not too much. You can find ACARS and
PIREP demos over at the FSFK site: http://www.molitor-home.de/FS/FLKeeper/
Besides the web interface, FSFK offers a local database and keeps track of all your flights and almost every single event (speed, alt, flaps,
lights, comms, AI and online traffic, weather ...) for each flight. Basically it works like a flight data recorder.

Finally FsAcars development is discontinued as of now, while FSFK is going to V3 (hopefully) soon. They also promised to include real-time
maps with V3. However, that was announced back in early spring

Remember, I am looking for something so that if I am cruising at 270 Knots at 15,000 feet in the air over New Mexico, can one of my friends go to a
website to see that status before i land?

So, I might just have to fly online.

Would RCv4 work online?

Yes, it's possible with both of them. I'm currently building a VA site (which will probably take me years) that will accept both sources and have
managed live transmissions through FSFK already. It was relatively easy thanks to a very good documentation. For FsAcars I've only realized
the pirep part so far, ACARS transmission seems a bit more complicated but is feasible.

That's exactly what it does. The output display only depends on how far the programmer will go. You can see an example for an advanced

Point your cursor over the plane symbols to get flight data.

So, I might just have to fly online.

You don't have to actually fly on a network, you just need to have an open internet connection, then the ACARS service will transmit your flight
data to the website every few minutes.

Yes, FSFK and FSP sounds are sort of getting in each others way, so I turned off FSFK's sound environment. I think you can also configure
which sounds you want and maybe have a mix of both.

easier unlesss anyone has something else to say?

And eazy, is that example map using Flight Keeper or something else?

Don't listen to him

The map handles data from Flight Keeper and FsAcars as well as XAcars (special version for X-Plane) but the application was entirely
programmed by the VA staff - unless they have stolen it from another VA

That's what I wanted to tell you. About the SDK and about the work you will have
Took me some time to get it running but with the SDK templates you should get along. Try pireps first, as the acars service is a
little more complicated.

I guess this thread will never end. If anyone else is familier with this besides eazy feel free to jump in.

So I was going threw the manual and got up to uploading the SQL files...

But it rejected saying:

SQL Error

Permission to perform action denied!

MySQL Said: Access denied for user 'dylan'@'%' to database 'flkeeper'.

Query: CREATE DATABASE IF NOT EXISTS flkeeper;

Is that because its not allowing me to create a new database?
