PMDG NG question

Hi guys,

anybody know how to limit the bank angle in PMDG NG when flying in LNAV mode? The autopilot always gave me something like 25
degrees when flying at mach .80 !

Yes just use the knob that is also the HDG SEL knob. The are markings like AUTO, 5, 10, 15 etc. Just turn that knob and you're set

dunno why, but that doesn't work for me on LNAV mode....that knob only works when you select the heading using HDG selector

Hmm... LNAV always gives me nice smooth turns.

As I understand it, "Bank Limiter" doesn't work for LNAV.

yes, but when I saw flightdeck movies from ITVV, during cruise they always keep it around 5 degrees bank angle and I bet "real" pax wont
be happy for more than 10 degrees at mach .80

Usually you don't feel the turns if done right, i have been in a 25 degree turn many times while in flight as passenger. I never really felt it.
LNAV should be able to give you smooth turns though.

I have read the whole FMC section on PMDG manual, but there's nothing about bank limiter

Nope, LNAV and fmc doesn't have bank limiter. The FMC calculates the turn by itself.

so, 20+ degrees bank angle is ok for mach .80? i dunno what happen in real world aviation, but IMO that's still too sharp...

All I know is that i have experienced a 20+ degree turn in cruise, and i wouldn't have noticed it unless i looked out the windows. But since i didn't
have a speedometer at my side, I can't be sure what the speed was. My best guess would be roughly .76

LNAV usually gives me good smooth turns. Sometimes 20* is okay.
