After sitting on it more I've been thinking its not so bad, especially after yet another flight ended in frustration at the ms atc. So if the new
vectoring in rc4 is really as good as they say it is i will definately pick it up.

One thing that really bugs me is that the pilot always says "we'll give 'em a call!" after clearance tells them to call ground for startup (at least
in the video). It just sounds so cheesy it urks me! :mad:

Take a look over at Simmarket, there's a new ATC one out with Speech Recognition, sounds promising and it's got a free demo version.
Made by a German outfit called pointsoft and it uses ABL to generate the adventure. Might be worth a look.

I saw that one too but i cannot find exactly what is included with the ATC part of the program. It looks like in fact the main program is a
flightplanner with some additional features?

I tried the demo yesterday. One drawback is that, as you wrote, they create adventures, which is different from "live" ATC. If you miss a waypoint,
for example, you're out of the flow and will never get further clearance as long as you don't pass that waypoint. There's no real vectoring either,
as the adventure just follows your flightplan. Besides that, I didn't feel very comfortable with the flight planner.

However, the interesting part is that even with the demo their voices sound much better and smoother as the ones from RC4. And with only
64MB download they include 2 voice sets (english and german) with different voices (american / european) for the english set. If you listen to
this you know that RC could have done better if they invested some more time, effort and maybe money in the voice editing part.

Maybe I'm crazy or blinded but i always said to myself that i would pay anything for a good atc replacement, no matter what. It looks like it's there
now with things like ai traffic, emergencies handling etc. So even though the voices are not good (switching down that volume most likely) I will get
it indeed.
One more remark about the fs9 atc, i think that one is too smooth compared to real world...
Anyhow, when i have it, i will for sure try to hack those voices a bit Big Grin

RC4 is out in a few days so I guess I'm going to wait on reviews and people's thoughts. If the vectoring is top notch and it handles more
like the real deal I may have to just deal with tHe ChoPPy VoiCE wORk but I'm going to wait and see what the guts are like before I
dismiss it for it's sound.
