How to change destination in flight using FMC

Hi guys, I'm pretty new to this flying sim lark, and must admit I'm hooked on it For the past month or so I've been flying the Herc C130
and the Dash8-300, but I fancied something new and thought I'd have a go at jets, so I've bought PMDG 737 NG. In it I've discovered
a 'monster' called an FMC, which is a hell of alot more complicated to use than the flight comps I've been using, but I'm slowly geting to
grips with it. The major headache I'm having is trying to change destination airport mid flight, for example today my stbd engine decided
to die on me so I thought it best to land ASAP, but trying to change my airport destination and getting rid of the navigation waypoints was
a right pain in the arse, surely there must be a simple way to do this, can anyone help?

if you click on the legs button, and put the new airport code in place of the 1st leg, (and press exec) wont it use the airport as the next
waypoint?

I've no idea, thats what I'm asking . I'll have a go at that though.

I'm not using the PMDG 737, but I would just set a suitable airport around me as the alternative airport, switch to Dep/Arr page, select the arrival
rwy and STAR as necessary and press exec. Should work for all Boeing aircraft...

Ok, thanks. Just did my first full flight to Paris using FMC, no probs at all, was very pleased with myself until I hit a building that wasn't
there whilst taxi-ing to gate
