If you're an "internet idiot" though prepare for a lot of reading before you can get the PAI stuff to work...

Yup, can't beat UT when it comes to easy handling + eye candy.
("+ eye candy" because MyTraffic provides easy one-click configuration as well, but ain't as pretty. ![]()

UT also adds a lot of "out-of-sim" features. There are a lot of little treats along the way to complement the great AI Traffic it adds.

yeah i spent all night on PAI last night installing all the aircraft, airlines, etc., next pay-day i will hopefully be able to buy UT and FINALLY
FSPassengers, but to be honest, i think UT is taking priority over FSP.

No way! FSP is more of a "required" addon than UT. Sure, UT adds some nice features (as well as all the traffic), but FSP actually affects
more! You'll be amazed by the level of detail in UT for a while. After a week or two, it'll just become the norm.

Yeah, but it feels so empty flying to KORD when you are the only plane on final, or flying Soar airlines, err, its horrible, i dunno, i will try to
get both in one shot, i just changed jobs and now got $8 dollars an hour (ok everyone STOP LAUGHING) so i should be alright.

That's not bad! You've got to start somewhere!

I saw something about AFCADS and UT? COuld someone clear that up for me?
Do I need to install a new AFCAD for EVERY single airport I want UT to show up on???? THat sounds crappy...hope I'm wrong about this. ![]() "Dont be too optimistic. The light at the end of the tunnel could be a train." - Franz Kafka

UT comes with a big collection of AFCADS if I'm not mistaken... and you can get more from their website (although they are probably the same as those
from afcad.projectai.com or avsim etc...) No AFCAD = no gate/airline assignments = no advanced AI traffic. ![]()
23-08-2005, 07:22 PM
That's true... UT comes with a bunch of AFCAD files, however I use AFCAD's I downloaded from flightsim.com instead of the UT
AFCAD's. For some reason the UT AFCAD's are at a different layer or something, and are overwritten by my 3rd party AFCAD's. No problems to report here!

Are those AFCADs automatically installed whenever I install UT? Or do I have to do it myself? And basically, what those AFCADs do, is assign the
proper airline company to the proper gates, right? I mainly fly from ESSA (Arlanda Sweden) to EGLL (Heathrow London) and have MS official "Scandinavian Airports 2" to update my ESSA. Will UT mess with this one? Cause now it is as in the real world. (Except for Soar, Orbit and the other AI dummos.) ![]() "Dont be too optimistic. You should be able to disable the AFCAD that comes with UT if not serch the scenery files and delete the ones you don't want.

I'd say UT installs the afcads automatically (long time since I tried it).
Just check where it installs them (I guess it's "addon scenery\scenery") and see to it that this directory has a low enough priority in you scenery menu. Personally I have the MyTraffic afcad directory on the lowest priority. Specific afcad files for addon airports I place in the scenery folder of the respective addon. That way single afcads always take precedence over the MyTraffic stuff. Should work the same with UT. |
