I need someone that has flown the Queen of the SKy Using FSbuild 2.2

Hi Joel,

I don't know about FSBuild but I do it no problem with FSNav. I just use the PMDG plugin for the 737 to export the flight plan and import it
in the 747 FMC without problems. Do you use FSBuild together with FSNAV?

I too use FSNav to import FMC files into the PMDG 737. Perhaps you could try FSNav? I swear by the program. It's absolutely excellent!

Usally it builds to FSplanner but since the Fs Planner won't load into the 747 I will have to try and worK around it

I will try the FsNav since it is free for 20 flights and see how it goes before I sinK anouther 45 into my FS LOL

Have anyone of you used Flightsim Commander... I dont know if it will do the job. Here is an quote from their site incase it helps...

Its free to use for 35min then it quits BUT you can do as many 35min runs as you want to... for evaluation purposes. It also can save files as PMDG
files etc.

I wouldn't consider using anything besides FS Navigator. Unfortunatly, I initially must plan my flight using the FS9 flight planner as well,
since I can't find out how to get FSNAV to recognize gates. Anyone know how? I'd like to set up a flight in FSNAV that starts at a certain
gate (like you can with the default FS9 flight planner), then export the flight over to FS9 for ATC interaction.

The new version of FSNAV can set you up at a gate when bulding a flight plan. Do you have 4.8?

Nope, I've got 4.7. Will my existing key work with FSNAV 4.8? If so, I'll download it.

Also, do you know if there's anyway to import FS9 flight plans to FSNAV? It seems that when I removed and reinstalled FS9, I lost all of
my FSNAV plans, but still have my FS9 plans (that are identical for reasons explained above). If I can import them, it'd save me alot of
work.

Yes Brad, the old key will work with 4.8. Aslo, after installing it, make sure you download the new sid/stars (you do that from time to time,
right?). You can initiate the transfer from the FSNAV menu Options--->SID/STARS download.
At navdata.at you can download the new airac cycle for FSNAV 4.x (I didn't do it yet, let me know if it works if you do download it).
Regardng your second question, I don't know and I can't try to find out because I'm in the process of a complete reinstallation of FS9 and I
didn't install FSNAV yet.

Sorry, the newest FSNAV is 4.7, the one you have....bare with me I've been sitting on the PC since this late morning dealing with uninstall
install of all the FS9 utilities, addon and stuff.....
So you should be good to go. After I create a Flight Plan in FSNAV then I click on Plan(If I remember right)--->Export--->FS2004 and a new
window pops up asking me what gate I want to use. Just select it and it will give another window to save the new flight plan.

I don't get the option of what gate to start at. How do you do it? When I select export to FS2004, it simply saves the file as an FS2004
flight plan, and doesn't offer me the option of selecting a starting position.

And yes, I constantly update my navigation data. Whether it be SIDS/STARS for the PMDG database, AIRAC cycle updates, or updates for
FSNAV, I'm always on it! So far, I haven't had a problem with any navigation data.

Well, let's see if we are doing it the same way.

1) After FS9 starts, push F9 and FSNAV comes up.
2) It initially displays the map view so I change it to plan
3) Now I have a list of airports on the right hand side. I click on the + sign next to the departure airport, right-click on the active rwy and
select "To Flightplan".
4) I do the same thing for the arrival airport.
5) On the left hand side now you'll have Dep Airport rwy, End of Climb, Beginning of descent, Arrival airport rwy and that's it
6) From the menu at the top of FSNAV window, I will select the tye of a/c, then the cruise alt and then I click on "calculate autoroute".
7) A new popup window comes up, I select "High Altitude Airways" and I put a check on "Search for" SID and STAR and click on ok.
8) Now the flight plan is displayed, I check all the waypoints visually on the map and if I like it...
9) ...I click on Plan--->Export--->Select FS2004 and click ok.
10) New popup window "FS2004 Departure Position" comes up where I can choose the gate from the list of the available gates. I select
my choice and click on ok.
11) "Save As" window comes up, I give the FP a name and save it.
12) I load that same FP into FS9 flight planner and when I click on ok, FS9 asks me if I want to move the a/c to the dep point specified on
the fp. Click yes and you'll see your a/c at the gate you selected after the fp is loaded.
