Not sure, off course there are as many way to enjoy FS 2004,bush flying aerobatics, Airline flights, Sight seeing , Screenshot (can be a long long work to get the pic you have in mind SavAs knows about this) But some people simply cannot figure out how it is possible to play with a game they don't considere as a game. Some of my colleagues are hard core gammers level N ..000...000...000, know by mind where are all stuff in counter strike , how many lamps in all levels in doom etc. They spend their nights in this are all week ends running to lans with their water cooled computers etc. But when I tell them I can spend 3-4 hours in a simple airline just for this: flight they don't get it. They can accept the idea to bother flying a plane if it is to blast some ennemies with missiles, bombs or gun. I'll wait atleast a month b4 I buy FS10. Why? To see if freeware/payware addon is compatible with the new FS.

I agree with Pagir, if we like pretend people on our flights why not Emergency Vehicles, it's not about how much of a "simmer" you are, it's about
imersion in the product. I think it would be pretty cool to land with an engine out and see Fire Engines racing along beside you. It's purely cosmetic, but then so are the lights and opening doors etc... I don't think M$ will go to this degree, but they normally include some additional extras, and why not the Emergency vehicles, it's a small change from there point of view, but adds to the realism factor a little more. ...Though i'm not advocating another expensive flight sim addon called something like FS Emergency probably with an ! mark at the end. ![[Image: dc10.jpg]](http://www.fspassengers.com/images/banner/sig/dc10.jpg)

things that I want but dont expect to see in FS10
1. Better ATC 2. Better weather, more so for some random weather (changing along with time, and alot of it depends on the time of the year) and the temprature zones do affect how cold/hot it is. This may have been improved greatly in 2004. 3.viewable charts, all of them, or at the very least give us the direction of the airways. 4.backward compatability with FS9 planes. 5.halfway decent built in repaint program, with the ability to import/export textures. 6.RANDOM traffic, that can take off from any airport, and land at any airport. with the bigger airports attracting more planes. 7.(Dan, forgive me for this) Virtual airlines, just like FSP 8.more realistic failures, and COMPLETLY random failures.

I have to disagree with you. Flight Simulator is not for everyone (actually, it's not for MOST people... lol). Sure, it has a wide range of activities available, however as Pegase mentioned, a lot of people don't understand what joy people like us get from sitting in front of a PC for 3-4 hours basically doing nothing (compared to shooter games, and RTS's... etc.). We're a rare breed us simmers!

These two shouldn't be too hard to implement:
1) More light in the VC 2)At least one more axis - so I could use (otherwise pointless) twist joystick for steering nosewheel, while keeping rudder for the tail solely. "Blessed are those who can laugh at their own mistakes, for they shall never cease to be amused "

I agree with Sovek.
A better ATC would be a priority. Although the big progress made since FS 98 which sent us digging holes in the mountains, It is still quit poor. - Lack of speed assignment and control. - Departure and approach path totally inconsistent with the charts SID and STAR. - Poor management of available parallel runway: we are too often waiting endlessly for take off clearance. - Poor regulation of arrival traffic. all AI and player planes are cleared to land on the same runway and must go around at last moment. It should use rather holding patterns. - More flexibility in runway assignment. - Better regulation on ground sometimes I get nose to nose with an AI plane taking the same taxi way on reverse direction. About weather, I use the now the real one as there are forcasts and I can take account of them for my flight planning. Just a critic, when the connexion to the server fails. the game is interrupted with a dialog box telling me to check and retry later. This is useless. why not simply try later in background without flight pause ? About time: Please, PLEASE !!! I beg you Mr Bill: no more GMT time shift in flight !!!  Something like an integrated FSNavigator would be great. or at least the possibility to view the maps and chart without game interruption. The AI traffic can already be nicely improved with things like TTools. But the airports looks quite empty in comparison to the air traffic. Now it is may be an issue about fps. Some effects like landing light beams , beacons and strobe could be really improved. Off course, I hope that current FS9 planes will still be compatible but can guess that they won't bother testing with all FS9 third parties payware and freeware fliying around. 1) Better ATC is the most important to me... I still haven't figured out how the AI planes get put on 7 mile approaches while I have to go out 20 miles in my Cessna... Grrrrr... I almost got sideswiped by a 747 at just over 6 miles out landing on the parallel runway... Too many jets running over me on approach... Landing clearance to planes behind me on the approach... Holding patterns are a big must! 7 handoffs in 5 minutes?!?! Come on.... I've had way too many handoffs in the middle of a handoff. Tune to 128.9... Then the option to contact center that just handed me off comes up??? Just weird. And annoying... Approach procedures? I thought all approaches were always straight in... haha Never had it any other way in FS. It's ok with me though since I don't know how to execute anything else anyway... But I probably should be forced to learn... In conjunction with actual random failures, communication with ATC regarding failures (including squawk codes) would help a lot! Priority landing clearance... Clear that runway and approach! Being able to request diverting around a weather system would be nice. It's hard to ask for an increase in FL to get over them in my unpressurized planes ya' know... Thanks a lot FsP! haha I have to admit the ATC has never driven me into a hillside yet. That's kinda' nice... I also like that the AI planes at least appear to follow ATC instruction. On a side-note... Am I the only one who can never see these planes at 4 miles out (daytime) when the ATC calls them? I still haven't figured out how a 747 pilot (AI) sees me behind and under him though... I can barely see him most of the time and my plane is much, much smaller and presumably has better visibility... Whatever... Maybe it's just my small monitor (only 17"). 2) Weather.... I can hardly stand flying manually with the real-world weather turned on because my plane gets jerked around whenever there is a slight change in wind direction/speed. Smooth dynamic weather is there so it shouldn't be too difficult to add a gradual change in the real world weather in my opinion. 3) Real random failures... They used to be in the game but now they're not... The current setup is great if you have an instructor programming the failures to test a student but otherwise it's just lame. What kind of test is it if I know my altimeter is going to fail in 30 minutes? Sheeeeesh! 4) Payload/Aircraft editor model... If I want 3 passenger seats in my 747, then I should be able to do that in the game dag nabbit! Which version of FS had the aircraft editor where you could change the specs? That was pretty cool except when I really screwed it up. 5) Useful planes... I realize that this is the Anniversary of powered flight edition but come on... How many times am I going to fly the Wright Brothers plane 30 feet? Give me a RG version of a Cessna at least. And why only a Piper Cub? Where is a decent Piper? I won't go into my plane wishlist but the only plane between a commercial airline and a prop is the lear? What about a flyable Dash-8 or the MD80 that are in the game as AI planes??? I woulda' paid extra for an official MS add-on group of planes... 6) Better Airports... Am I the only one who can't see where I'm going at night at these airports? It's especially troublesome in the Cessna with the taxi light off on the wing. And the textures of the airports stink too... They look like an old dirty warehouse at night rather than an actual airport. Also, there are no 777's or 747's that land at my local airport (KPDX)... Except maybe the odd UPS 747 during the holidays and I think there is another cargo company's 747 that lands there once a week or so or it used to. Since it looks like I'm getting nit-picky here, I'll shut up now. |
