HELP: FS2004 Repaint Programs

Hey everyone. I need help! Ok, I REALLY want to repaint my own plane, and create my own Airline - In short, I want to basicly design
the design that goes on a certain plane. Now, my question is, does anyone either know how to design a repaint (and hopefully there is an
easy way) and if you do, please message me, email me or reply to this post, or do you know of a program that can help me do this (an
example is FS Repaint, a program that is exactly what I need, but I don't use payware) If you do, please email, post or message me on
the tittle and if you know, then where I can download it - freeware please, lol. I am really interested in repainting planes, and therefor
would love for anyone with information on it to email me.

Well the main one that shows uo, I've already seen... it's to hard! Lol. What I WANT is for a program like Paint, where you open up the
plane and just basicly.... draw on it, haha.

Umm, that is simply not possible with modern day models and textures. See if you can find a texture template for your aircraft at AVSIM or SimViation.
That should help.

Lol what do you mean am I braging? Yes you're right, it's http://www.Abacuspub.com , sorry lol. If you're interested, you can get the demo
version, which is fully fuctional, with no time limit, the only thing that there is no outside copy and pasting ( you can't copy an image from
for example Google Images and then paste it to FS Repaint.) And you also can't save. But you still can use it as an easy program to view
your repaint work (if you use Photo Shop Pro, and DXT and things like that). I would send the full version to you, but I think it's
illegal

I use DXT2BMP program to convert the texture files to an edible file and use photoshop CS2,or download photoshop templates of textures to create
repaints. Ive tried to use the demo of Fsrepaint but its really bugged and i cant use it for some reason. I love photoshop since its so powerful. Of
course if you are trying to make a great repaint your going to need some practice. For example, heres my first repaint that actually looked good (took
a couple days)



After a while I was able to do this in a few hours (God forbid i try the "no right for error" scenario with microsoft air )



If you really dont want to use payware than you need to get a program called "DXT2BMP" (use google to find it). Then you can use MS paint to edit the files (and convert it back through DXT2BMP) if you like a challenge,but go ahead and find a free,more advanced paint program.

Hi all ,

1-YES you will need DXTbmp to convert the bmps from FS to Extended bmp editable files and vice versa.
2-I use Photoshop CS2 to paint. Its powerfull and complete, also it is my regular job tool at work too and I know It a lot.
3- I check the painting progress in FS REPAINT demo becouse U can see the textures in 3D skined on the bird as 24 bit bmp not converted.
Many many models has problems with textures and U need to check before convert to DXT3 better for FS, and dont need to run FS to see the aircraft.
4- I use DXTbmp to play with alpha channel too.

I am at your and everyone service, if needed, to help with tips and tricks.

The default planes and most others are have textures in extended bitmaps. Download DXT2bmp to open the extended bitmap and you
can then send it to a Paint program and draw on it all you like. MS Paint works, but there are free photoshop type editors out there that you
can use too. When finished in the editor, save it as a 24bit bitmap.

Make sure when you load back into DXT2bmp, and that you also import the Alpha channel in DXT2bmp (if there isn't one in your paintkit,
you can extract one from another texture set using DXT2bmp provided it is for the same aircraft model of course) - then save as bitmap
and select DXT3 with alpha channel. The alpha channel shows up in the top right of DXT2bmp.

There are blank paint kits available for all the default planes - just do a google search for default paint kit fs2004.

It's easy to do, but some texture panels are a bit confusing, so you might want to open a plane you know the paint scheme of to get an
idea of what goes where.

Since fsrepaint was mentioned here, has anyone tried the "custom panel deisnger" that Abacus puts out? How do you feel it compares to fs panel
deisnger if you've tried both?

I have FS Repaint and the custom panel designer. I'd send you it but number one, I think it's illigal and also I bought it while in
France, the installer is in french. (not the program though) Abacus Repaint comes with 3 free planes - Some Bombardier that I can't
remember... Boeing Stratotanker and some other one....
