MAybe I'm reading your responses wrong and again understand that this is only a Beta version but im picking up that that it really has not changed
that much from where we are now. A lot of your responses seem to be in the negative.

Especially if we are loaded up with all the payware addons. If we are going to have to upgrade all the extras it will indeed be a very costly
exercise-developers are not going to rewrite software for nothing

My 2 cents on the matter:

It's not Microsoft's fault if someone wants to spend several hundred dollars on addons. They are in the business of making the base
product - period. At LEAST they have made it their goal to keep 3 versions relatively similar so that a lot of addons will work together,
before doing a complete overhaul. Imagine all the whining that will happen when FS11 comes out, as FS8,9,and X are the
current "similar" group. If you don't want to buy all new payware, then don't buy FSX, simple as that. No one has a gun to your head.

As far as what's new, how much really changed from FS2002 to FS2004? About as much or less than from FS2004 to FSX. FSX adds
moving jetways, ground traffic, airport vehicles, 1m terrain mesh of the entire planet, better rain effects, better autogen, an Airbus (finally!),
missions , better default airport graphics and textures, MUCH better water textures, etc. So they messed up by not working up a
better ATC engine - next time? It is a much improved product, though not improved in ALL the ways that EVERYONE wanted.

It just sounds like everyone wants "new" and "better" and "major improvements" with NO compatibility issues with past addons. Illogical.
Then again, there will always be complainers.

And why would you consider this "Whining and complaining?......You dont' seem to think that they are legitimate questions....
Let's say that,as you have done...make a comparison....That within 4-5 months all "Gas stations" stopped selling gas and diesel....And started selling
"Bio-fuels"....That your car/truck was not able to use....Would that seem right?
And man are you right when you say" that no one has gun to my head..."
It still seems ironic that you said not much has changed....Except for the fact that almost everything...Payware and freeware will not work with out
some form of patch....So what good will the Movin jetways,Better water, rain and textures do when your flyin' "Default planes"?
So it aint' just me that will be complaining...
I read somewhere the most gauges before 2004 are unable to run in FSX...
So maybe step beck and look at the whole picture....Not just the payware end...and you'll get the gist of what I'm saying...

False comparison. You don't HAVE to buy FSX and if you do, you don't HAVE to buy a ton of payware stuff - you do need to have
transportation. This is the same kind of logic that what's his face used against O'Reilly's gas gouging argument. He said that if you want
to complain about the price of gas, why not complain about Starbucks charging $4 for a cup of coffee? O'Reilly: "I don't HAVE to buy a
coffee at Starbucks but, I DO need to put gas in my car."

Not much has changed with regard to the platform. And I don't know where you're getting your information from but, so far, all my
freeware aircraft AND scenery AND AI traffic files work flawlessly with the FSX demo, with the exception of a few gauges that are from
FS98. And yes, I do also have payware.
