Hi all, I'm very happy with FSP progress, I use it for many years and this year I migrated from P3Dv3.4 to P3Dv4, as I had no news of the progress of the FSP for v4 I decided to annotate my flights manually in a worksheet, just like the FSP does (ground time, flight time ...) because the IVAO offers information of every operation of the flight, there I have a second:
After launching the FSP version for P3Dv4, would there be any way I could include those flights in my Logbook, just for registration? With restrictions for example not including punctuation.

Not a formal news but I'm very happy. It took me 6 days but the failures are back... (as well as several other stuff)

Perhaps the ability to view/edit your company's settings after it has been created?

I may add that at least for the name and feature that may not damage your flights' log.
(The money multiplier for example might modify all your flight logs, I'll see when I'll do this part.)

FSPassengers does not recognize when the strobe lights are (I guess due to the three possible positions of the related switch in the cockpit) on and does not give you a penalty when you extend the the flaps at high speed (at least when I fly).

At first I would say it's impossible because they might use private values and not the P3D one, so I can't read them unless I hack also the PMDG dll. But that would be too much ... (For the flap, it may be possible they don't use "flap 0" but another one so I'm not 100% sure)

Same for the "belt sign" and light, P3D (as well as FSX) offer official values that aircraft gauges can change and other add-on can read. If aircraft author doesn't use those value I can't read the button's position.

Can you fix the 65520lbs or so bug in the cargo area?? For example a 777 can have 200,000lbs of cargo but FSP would permit somehting like 130lbs divided between the two cargo stations

This depends on the payload model.
The four provided with FsP (777,777-2,777-2 (cargo), 777-3) allow 150'000 LBS per cargo station.
Can you let me know which payload model you use ?
Are you sure you are not at MTOW because of the fuel & pax ?

Everything is possible, but this would need a utility to decode/edit/encode the database. The problem is time.
After a first "rough" release I plan to add more features to the FsP v4 version then update the P3Dv2-v3 and FSX versions.
If you can find someone that can write such utility (C++ only) I can give him all the information about the database format.

One small suggestion from my side would be to split the light penalty in the FSPassengers setting menu to a strobe light penalty and a beacon/landing light penalty. So, you could turn off the strobe light penalty to avoid false strobe light penalties but let the other two light penalties on while flying the PMDG aircraft to keep as much realism as possible .

Informal news... sort of "dev blog"...

FsPassengers is the only addon since flight simulator 2004 to offer the possibility of "belling landing" (landing without wheel and sliding without crash) You can see it in this (old) video:





This "hack" is very complicated, I should find all the wheels in memory (dynamic) to control them directly, find the contact point, copy them on my own memory, deallocate the original, change the original pointer to my memory and redefine new "contact" point with ground.
I hope they didn't changed too much things for the V4 else it can take me several days (or worse).

The first step is the direct control of the wheels (so I can block one or all in any position).
Success (image below), and I cleaned the original code as well.

In reality landing gear failure is not uncommon, you can find a lot of video of real aircraft landing without one or more wheel on youtube:

Yep, interesting. With an overall bonus point if it was a wise decisions... (*"Pax are not happy about destination-200" "*Divert was a good decision given the bad weather, safety first +600")

But a wise decision might be a bit difficult to detect.
One should not land 1000km away from destination or on an airport where the weather is worse than the original and it may be very difficult to detect the weather over far airports.

Mhhhh.... (thinking out loud) ... yes with a dialog to enter the new destination... Mhhhhh... and I can do the detection at this time...

I note this on my "TODO" list but I'll probably release a first functional v4 in hurry with almost no changes, then start to add stuff for an update. (1 month)

There is a looong time that I think about allowing to purchase stuff to customize the interior of your aircraft.
more comfortable seats, multimedia electronic, phone by sat, cabin decoration etc. etc.

You'll loose some money but it can give you a "pax waiting at gate" and "pax happiness/company satisfaction" boost...
You can then raise ticket price to payback/gain more money or choose to boost company's satisfaction.
The main problem is the interface to purchase stuffs, it should be clear, simple and appealing but as I plan to redesign a bit the dialogues it might be time to do it.

What you think about this idea ?

...to make it short: I registered 3 minutes ago just to let you know: I - just - love - the - idea. 
(both ideas, actual, also the divert thing)

I would also love (those features are also included in FSCaptain, somehow, they should work)
- a penalty, if you forget to use Anti-Ice (or maybe serious issues caused by icing)
- a penalty, if you forget to turn on the packs in airliner or to forget to check for cabin temperature
- the possibility to let the FO ask for the active runway at our destination
- maybe even the possibility to let the FO ask for the weather conditions at the destination (would fit perfectly to the divert feature, if you decide after this check to divert...)
- a penalty if you do not land on the active runway
- a bonus for good fuel management (enough reserves but not full tanks at the end of the flight)
- the possibility to announce a Go Around, maybe with annoyed passengers, but bonus points for pilot's decision?

This one is hard to realize:
a bonus for landing at some special airports with difficult approachs, for example Innsbruck (LOWI)

Maybe thats too crazy, but what about a new flight mode called "medical", where you just need to be as fast and as careful as possible (low vertical speed and G forces, soft landing)?

... or a "return flight" feature, where you can, after finishing a flight, start the flight back to your departure airport... and you only have a small time slot for preparation and boarding, lets say, 20 minutes. So - you can maybe feel a bit more the pressure of real pilots?
