Are you making sure to retard the prop rpm's and torque after takeoff? Many (if not all) turboprops require you to set a torque and prop rpm setting
for climb and cruise. This will allow you to get the best fuel economy. Also, there should be a cruise and fast cruise setting for you in the
aircraft's operations tables. The B1900C's and B1900D's I fly have both a cruise and fast cruise based on the settings for torque and prop rpm.
