Actaully the 707 can do 3,000fpm quite easily when its flown properly.
Yeah, and a 737 can climb at 5,000FPM in the right conditions. Some of the CFM56-7 engines are rated up to 27,300LBS of thrust!
That's a hell of a lot for this small of an aircraft! Under normal conditions, the engines on the 737-700 (the CFM56-7's) are limited to
around 24K thrust per engine.

And it can hold 230 passengers max (320C).
I believe the latest 737-900's can hold around 200 PAX... not quite 230, but very close.

it can go <5,000nm depending on payload. It's a great plane.
The BBJ (a 737) has a range of about 6,200NM I believe. From an economic stand point, a pilotage stand point, and a PAX satisfaction
standpoint; a 737 (or BBJ) would beat a 707 ten to one any day! Why do you think the 737 is the commercial airliner with the longest
history of steady production, and the most aircraft produced and in service? Why do quite a few airlines EXCLUSIVELY fly the 737? The
737 is BY FAR the GREATEST airliner (all around) of our time. It's not too small, not too big. Not too cheap, not too expensive. Not too
loud, not too quiet. It's all around PERFECT! I'm not just saying this because I fly them, and represent a company that owns 429 737's.
Do the math, the 737 is the KING OF THE SKIES! Almost 5,000 are currently in service, and nearly 6,000 are ordered (meaning there's
about 1000 on order). Show me another jetliner with statistics even CLOSE to this! You won't be able to find one!
Just thought I'd brag a little about the greatest plane ever created!
