I had the same problem.. When I loaded FSP my sound started going crazy, crackling, popping, etc etc. I switched out sound cards and had the same
problem.
Sound cards used: SB Live! 5.1 and SB Live 512.
When I changed the cards, XP changed the drivers for me, I should have known better.
THE FIX:
Install the driver from the card manufacture. After installing the driver from creative, all my sound problems went away. (and it sounds better!)
I hope this helps you, and other you have run into this problem with sound. It sure was annoying. But glad it's fixed and now I can use FSP without a
problem.
