That real pilot Dan's talking about is me! lol. I noted that landing speeds between -500 and -1000ft/min can be tolerated by the PAX as a
VERY ROUGH LANDING. Any sink rate above -1000ft/min may damage the aircraft, and seriously injure the PAX. Anything under -300
ft/min is considered a smooth landing. My normal touchdown rate is about -275ft/min. The captain that I fly with continuously touches
down under -100ft/min. I'm trying to catch up, and I've had quite a few very nice landings, however I just can't seem to continuously hit the -
100ft/min mark. Too bad.
