When I first installed FS9 I didn't notice much performance decrease either. But then came some FS9-addon-sceneries... some complex addon-planes...
terrain meshes etc. etc... I'd say FS9 with a decent number of addons is definitely much heavier on the hardware than a comparable FS8. Settings
should be about the same for a comparison, too, of course. (Like all sliders to the max in both sims or something like that.)
